Output
Level
controls
and
set
the
STEREO/MONO
switch
(for
the
subwoofer)
as
desired

touch
control
switches
are
only
possible
while
the
indicator
corresponding
to
the
desired
mode
Is

PHASE
Switch
The
acoustic
characteristics
inside
a
car
vary
from
car
to
Car.
The
acoustic
characteristics
inside
some
cars
and
the
type
of
speakers
used
e.g.
subwoofers
which
are
capable
of
reproduc-
ing
very
low
frequencies
may
throw
the
sound
out
of
phase.
Listen
to
the
sound
while
switching
the
PHASE
switch
back
and
forth,
and
leave
it
in
the
position
where
it
gives
you
most
bass
from
the
subwoofer.
180°
PHASE
STEREO/MONO
Switch
If
you
are
only
using
one
subwoofer
in
the
sound
system
of
your
car,
this
switch
should
be
set
to
MONO.
Set
to
STEREO
or
MONO
when
two
subwoofers
are
used.
Greater
sound
separation
is
obtained
by
setting
the
switch
to
STEREO.
On
the
other
hand,
setting
th
switch
to
MONO
will
provide
greater
sound
volume.

MONO
STEREO
Output
Level
The
output
level
for
both
front
and
rear
amplifier
outputs
have
been
preset
in
the
factory
to
the
best
levels,
and
no
further
adjustment
is
necessary
under
normal
circumstances.
Adjustment,
however,
may
be
required
if
there
are
differences
in
the
output
levels
and
sensitivity
between
the
amplifiers
used
with
the
3318
or
if
there
are
differences
in
speaker
efficiency,
because
the
Fader
contro!
itself
may
not
be
sufficient
to
adequately
make
up
for
excessive
differences
of
the
level
between
the
front
and
rear
speakers.
In
such
a
case,
adjust
the
Output
Level
Controls
as
follows:
1.
Make
fader
adjustment
so
the
Fader
Position
Indicator
is
set
to
the
center
position.
Identical
output
levels
in
the
front
and
rear
speakers
will
thus
be
achieved.
2.
Determine
which
output
level,
from
front
or
rear
speakers,
is
greater.
3.
If
the
output
level
from
the
front
speakers
is
greater,
with
a
flat
blade
screwdriver,
turn
the
Front
Output
Level
control
counterclockwise
until
the
output
levels
of
front
or
rear
speakers
are
in
perfect
balance.
4.
\f
the
output
level
from
the
rear
speakers
is
greater,
turn
the
Rear
Output
Level
control
counterclockwise.
