PLAYER
OPERATION>
1.
Turn
the
power
on
by
rotating
the
Power
On/OFF
switch
8
clockwise.
With
the
tape
opening
to
the
right,
insert
a
pre-recorded
cassette
into
the
loading
slot
©
as
far
as
it
will
go.
One
of
the
tape
direction
indicators
@
will
light
and
the
tape
will
start
playing.
2.
lf
ametal
or
CrO,
cassette
tape
is
inserted,
the
tape
mechanism
automatically
sets
itself
for
70sec
equalization.
3.
If
a
Dolby
B
encoded
tape
is
used,
press
the
Dolby
B
switch
@
to
activate
this
feature.
If
a
Dolby
C
encoded
tape
is
used,
press
the
Dolby
C
switch
@.
4.
Adjust
VOLume
@,
BASS
@,
TREBle
@,
BALance
4
and
FADer
@
controls
to
suit
your
listening
preference.
5.
To
change
from
side
A
to
play
side
B
or
vice
versa
before
the
end
of
the
tape
is
reached,
lightly
push
the
PROG
switch
$.
Tape
play
direction
automatically
reverses
at
the
end
of
the
tape.
6.
There
are
three
ways
to
stop
tape
play:
1)
Press
the
TUNER
switch
4,
the
tuner
will
come
on
and
the
tape
will
pause;
2)
Press
the
TAPE
switch
to
temporarily
stop
tape
play;
3)
Press
the
Eject
switch
@
to
stop
tape
play
and
eject
cassette.
Fast
Forward
and
Rewind
1.
Press
the
FF
switch
@
and
the
tape
will
advance
rapidly.
Press
the
REW
switch
@0
and
the
tape
quickly
rewinds.
2.
Lightly
press
the
same
switch
again
or
press
the
TAPE
switch
49
to
defeat
the
FF/REW
function.
3.
When
the
FF/REW
operation
reaches
the
end
of
the
tape,
the
mode
will
automatically
switch
to
playback.
Note:
The
FF/REW
operation
can
also
be
activated
in
the
radio
mode.
When
the
end
of
the
tape
is
reached
the
tape
deck
will
switch
to
the
pause
mode.
Tape
Pause
Push
the
TAPE
switch
49
to
temporarily
stop
the
tape
play.
The
tape
head
and
pinch
roller
disengage
from
the
tape
while
the
cassette
remains
in
the
deck.
To
deactivate
the
pause
function
and
resume
tape
play,
push
the
TAPE
switch
@
again.
Blank
Skip
This
function
senses
a
non
recorded
portion
continuing
for
more
than
15
seconds
on
tape
and
fast
forwards
the
tape
to
a
beginning
of
next
program
or
to
the
tape
end.
Press
the
B.
SKIP
switch
@
to
activate
the
Blank
Skip
function.
Press
again
the
B.
SKIP
switch
@
to
deactivate
the
Blank
Skip
function.
Music
Sensor
To
play
the
next
selection
on
the
tape,
press
the
UP
(Tuning/Music
Sensor)
switch
@.
In
seconds
after
it
is
pressed,
the
Music
Sensor
will
automatically
locate
the
beginning
of
the
next
selection
on
the
tape
and
will
then
return
to
the
play
mode.
To
return
to
the
beginning
of
the
selection
you
are
listening
to,
press
the
DN
(Tuning/Music
Sensor)
switch
@
and
the
tape
will
return
to
the
start
of
the
selection
and
begin
playing.
Note:
If
the
blank
portion
between
the
selections
is
less
than
4
seconds
or
within
2
seconds
after
starting
playback
of
a
selection,
the
Music
Sensor
does
not
function.
