Limited Warranty Information
Thank you for choosing an Alpine product! We aim to please with our wide range of products including

will repair or replace, at our discretion, within the warranty period. A valid proof of purchase, with the
purchase date clearly indicated, must be provided. Photos of defective merchandise will also be
required to help distinguish the actual cause of the defect. Please read below for a detailed
description of warranty coverage.
Water Damage
Alpine products are not manufactured to withstand extreme temperatures. Improper storage
that allows water to freeze within a product may cause damage and is considered negligence
and will, therefore not be covered under this warranty. The use of “hard water” and/or caustic
cleaners can affect the paint or other finishes. Failure to keep the unit clean, and use of such
additives/cleaners, will also void the warranty. Please note: for fountains, it is normal for some
splashing to occur and protecting the immediate surfaces is not the responsibility of Alpine
Corporation
Paint & Color (Retention and/or Loss)
The use of water will cause natural erosion to the color. This area can be touched up
using standard paint. The paint is designed to protect the entire finish against breakdown
of color. As with any product, all finishes with time will gradually fade and discolor. The
warranty will only cover against severe or complete fading within the first year from date of
purchase with the above exclusion.

the product. If that is not an option, you can contact Alpine Corporation at www.alpine4u.com.
When contacting Alpine Corporation, you must be prepared to show proof of purchase,

available to a consumer through the original selling party, or an approved parts retailer. If this
is not an option, contact our customer service department. Item is covered under one year

charges.

Overview

This document provides comprehensive information regarding the assembly, usage, maintenance, and warranty of an Alpine Bird Bath Fountain with LED Light, model TZL202.

Function Description

The Alpine Bird Bath Fountain with LED Light (TZL202) is designed to provide an aesthetic and calming water feature for outdoor spaces. It functions by circulating water through a system that includes a submersible pump, creating a continuous flow that mimics a natural bird bath. The integrated LED light enhances its visual appeal, especially during evening hours, adding an ambient glow to the water. The fountain is intended to be a decorative element, offering both visual and auditory tranquility through the gentle sound of flowing water.

Usage Features

To ensure proper operation and longevity, the fountain requires careful assembly and adherence to specific usage guidelines.

Assembly:

The assembly process begins by placing the fountain base on a smooth and level surface. The submersible pump, removed from its packaging, should have its flow control adjusted to the lowest setting to minimize splashing during initial setup. The vinyl tubing from the opening in the back of the fountain connects to the pump, which is then placed into the bottom reservoir through the same opening. The LED light cord, also from the back opening, connects to the transformer by inserting the male prong socket into the female plug. Finally, the back cover is replaced by sliding it to the right.

Water Filling and Operation:

After assembly, water is gently poured into the fountain, taking care not to overflow or cause excessive splashing. It is crucial that the pump is completely submerged for the water to circulate clearly during operation. Once filled, the cords for the LED lights and pump are plugged into a local power supply. It is important to ensure that the power source remains dry and free from water. The manual recommends using distilled water to prevent scale build-up. When first operated, the pump may take up to 5 minutes to expel air and begin flowing properly.

Important Cautions:

Several cautions are highlighted to ensure safe and effective use. Always unplug the pump from the electrical outlet before cleaning or handling. The fountain should only be used with clean water, and neither the fountain nor its parts should be immersed in any other liquid. The unit should be disconnected and stored in a dry place when not in use for extended periods. It is advised not to operate the fountain with water temperatures above 90°F (30°C). The pump should never be lifted, carried, or pulled by its power cord. The maximum voltage and wattage on the transformer should not be exceeded, and the pump must never be allowed to run dry, as this can cause significant damage.

Maintenance Features

Regular maintenance is essential to preserve the fountain's appearance and functionality, and to ensure its longevity.

Cleaning:

Periodically changing the water and cleaning the pump are crucial to keep the fountain free from micro-organisms and prevent buildup. The manual specifically recommends using Alpine's all-natural cleansing formula to address common issues such as foam, lime scale, calcium buildup, mineral deposits, and discolored water. This formula is designed to keep the water crystal clear, prevent staining, remove organic contaminants, and protect the pump from damage caused by hard water. Specific product recommendations are provided based on fountain size: Alpine Item # PPL100 for fountains holding up to 7 liters of water, and Alpine Item # PPL102 for larger fountains holding over 7 liters.

Troubleshooting Pump Issues:

If the pump fails to run, users should check the circuit breaker or try a different outlet to ensure the pump is receiving electrical power. The pump discharge and tubing should be checked for kinks or obstructions, and any buildup obstructing water flow can be flushed with a garden hose. The rotor should also be checked by removing the front cover and plate to access the impeller area, ensuring it is not jammed or broken.

If the pump "spews," the water level should be checked to ensure the pump is completely submerged and that there is sufficient water in the basin for operation. Insufficient water can cause the pump to spew.

If the pump makes abnormal loud noises, it should be disconnected from the power supply. The front cover and plate should be removed, and the impeller/rotor assembly gently pulled out of the pump housing. The assembly and cavity should then be rinsed with clean water. If any breakage or damage is found, the local retailer should be contacted for parts.

Warranty and Care:

The product comes with a one-year limited warranty from the date of purchase. However, this warranty is subject to specific conditions. Improper storage that allows water to freeze, the use of "hard water" or caustic cleaners, and failure to keep the unit clean will void the warranty due to negligence. While some splashing is normal for fountains, protecting immediate surfaces is not the responsibility of Alpine Corporation. Natural erosion of color due to water exposure is expected, and paint can be touched up with standard paint. The warranty only covers severe or complete fading within the first year, excluding natural erosion.

The warranty does not cover damages caused in transit, inadequate care or neglect, environmental or natural elements, immersion in water (unless specified), or improper installation/storage/maintenance. It is also void if the product has been damaged by accident, misuse, negligence, improper installation, or modifications. This includes defects from freezing water damage, hard water damage, failure to keep the unit clean, and the use of harmful additives like bleach or chlorine. The warranty does not cover additional charges for installation, removal, disposal, shipping, or consequential damage.

For warranty claims, users should contact the retailer where the product was purchased. If that is not possible, Alpine Corporation can be contacted directly via their website. Proof of purchase, photographs, and any other necessary information to validate the claim will be required. The warranty covers only the individual defective component of a unit with multiple parts. Replacement parts may be available through the original selling party or an approved parts retailer. After 30 days of purchase, credit card information will be requested for shipping charges for replacement parts.
