Limited Warranty Information
Thank you for choosing an Alpine product! We aim to please with our wide range of products including
Fountains, Birdbaths, Statuary, Pond Supplies & More. All of our products are constructed from the
highest quality materials. In the event that we have not achieved our usual standard of excellence, we
will repair or replace, at our discretion, within the warranty period. A valid proof of purchase, with the
purchase date clearly indicated, must be provided. Photos of defective merchandise will also be
required to help distinguish the actual cause of the defect. Please read below for a detailed
description of warranty coverage.
Water Damage
Alpine products are not manufactured to withstand extreme temperatures. Improper storage
that allows water to freeze within a product may cause damage and is considered negligence
and will, therefore not be covered under this warranty. The use of “hard water” and/or caustic
cleaners can affect the paint or other finishes. Failure to keep the unit clean, and use of such
additives/cleaners, will also void the warranty. Please note: for fountains, it is normal for some
splashing to occur and protecting the immediate surfaces is not the responsibility of Alpine
Corporation
Paint & Color (Retention and/or Loss)
The use of water will cause natural erosion to the color. This area can be touched up
using standard paint. The paint is designed to protect the entire finish against breakdown
of color. As with any product, all finishes with time will gradually fade and discolor. The
warranty will only cover against severe or complete fading within the first year from date of
purchase with the above exclusion.
Procedure/Service
Should a warranty/claim be needed, you should contact the retailer from whom you purchased
the product. If that is not an option, you can contact Alpine Corporation at www.alpine4u.com.
When contacting Alpine Corporation, you must be prepared to show proof of purchase,
provide photographs and any other information needed to validate your claim. This may be
necessary to distinguish between a partial or complete replacement of a defective product.
The warranty does not cover any items with multiple parts; the warranty will ONLY cover the
individual component of the unit/item that may be defective. Replacement parts can be made
available to a consumer through the original selling party, or an approved parts retailer. If this
is not an option, contact our customer service department. Item is covered under one year
limited warranty from the date of purchase. When requesting replacement parts due to a
warranty claim after 30 days of purchase, credit card information will be requested for shipping
charges.
Not Covered Under Warranty
The limited warranty will NOT cover cases of damages due to
1. Damages caused in Transit
2. Inadequate care and/or neglect
3. Environmental and/or natural elements
4. Immersion in water, unless specified
5. Improper Installation/Storage and/or Maintenance
This warranty is void if the product has been damaged by accident, misuse, negligence, improper
installation and/or modifications have occurred. This includes any and/or all defects arising out of
freezing water damage, hard water damage, failure to keep the unit clean and free of harmful additives
such as bleach, chlorine, etc…. which affects the paint and/or parts. This warranty also does not cover
any additional charges or installation, removal, disposal and/or shipping costs or consequential damage
associated with any warranty claim.

Overview

This document describes the Alpine WIN1138 Tiering Bowls Fountain with White LED Light, a decorative water feature designed for home use.

Function Description

The Alpine WIN1138 is a multi-tiered fountain that circulates water and features integrated white LED lighting. Its primary function is to provide an aesthetic and calming element to an environment through the visual and auditory presence of flowing water and subtle illumination. The fountain operates by pumping water from a basin through a series of tiered bowls, creating a cascading effect.

Important Technical Specifications

The manual does not explicitly list technical specifications such as dimensions, weight, or pump flow rate (GPH). However, it does provide information about the components and operational requirements:

  • Components: Fountain unit, LED Light, Submersible Pump, and Transformer.
  • Power: The unit requires connection to a local power supply for both the LED lights and the pump.
  • Water Type: Recommended use with distilled water to prevent scale build-up. Clean water is essential for proper operation.
  • Water Temperature: Do not operate with water above 90°F (30°C).
  • Pump Operation: The pump may take up to 5 minutes to expel air and begin flowing properly during initial operation.

Usage Features

  • Assembly:
    1. Place the fountain base on a smooth and level surface.
    2. Remove the LED light cord from the opening at the back of the fountain.
    3. Connect the male two-prong socket of the LED light cord to the female plug of the transformer.
    4. Gently pour water into the fountain, ensuring the pump is completely submerged and avoiding overflow or splashing.
    5. Plug the cords for the LED lights and pump into a local power supply, ensuring no water is around the plugs and keeping the power source in a dry place.
  • Water Management:
    • It is normal for some splashing to occur; protecting immediate surfaces is the user's responsibility.
    • The use of "hard water" and/or caustic cleaners can affect the paint or finishes and will void the warranty.
    • Failure to keep the unit clean and use of additives/cleaners will also void the warranty.
    • The manual recommends using Alpine's all-natural cleansing formula to prevent foam, lime scale, calcium buildup, mineral deposits, staining, and organic contaminants. Specific product recommendations (PPL100 for fountains up to 7 liters, PPL102 for fountains over 7 liters) are provided.
  • Safety Precautions:
    • Always unplug the pump from the electrical outlet before cleaning or handling.
    • Use with clean water only; do not place the fountain or parts in any other liquid.
    • Do not lift, carry, or pull the pump by the power cord.
    • Disconnect and store the unit in a dry place if not in use for an extended period.

Maintenance Features

  • Cleaning:
    • Periodically change water and clean the pump to keep it free from micro-organisms.
    • For pump issues like "spewing," check the water level to ensure the pump is fully submerged.
    • If the pump makes abnormal loud noises, disconnect it, remove the front cover and plate, gently pull out the impeller/rotor assembly, and rinse it with clean water. Check for breakage or damage.
    • Any buildup obstructing water flow can be flushed with a garden hose.
    • The paint is designed to protect against color breakdown, but all finishes will gradually fade and discolor over time. Severe or complete fading is covered under warranty for the first year, excluding natural erosion from water.
  • Troubleshooting (Pump Issues):
    • Pump fails to run: Check the circuit breaker or try a different outlet. Check the pump discharge and tubing for kinks or obstructions. Flush any buildup with a garden hose. Check the rotor by removing the front cover and plate, turning it to ensure it's not jammed or broken.
    • Pump "spews": Ensure the pump is completely submerged and there is enough water in the basin.
    • Abnormal loud noises: Disconnect the pump, remove the front cover and plate, gently pull out the impeller/rotor assembly, rinse it with clean water, and check for damage.
  • Warranty Information:
    • Coverage: One-year limited warranty from the date of purchase. Covers repair or replacement at Alpine's discretion for defects in materials and workmanship. Only covers the individual component that may be defective.
    • Requirements for Claim: Valid proof of purchase with a clearly indicated date, and photographs of defective merchandise are required.
    • Exclusions (Voiding the Warranty):
      • Water damage from freezing due to improper storage.
      • Damage from "hard water" or caustic cleaners.
      • Failure to keep the unit clean or use of harmful additives/cleaners (e.g., bleach, chlorine).
      • Accident, misuse, negligence, improper installation, or modifications.
      • Damages caused in transit.
      • Inadequate care and/or neglect.
      • Environmental and/or natural elements.
      • Immersion in water (unless specified).
      • Improper installation/storage and/or maintenance.
      • Additional charges for installation, removal, disposal, shipping costs, or consequential damage.
    • Claim Procedure: Contact the retailer of purchase. If not possible, contact Alpine Corporation at www.alpine4u.com. Be prepared to provide proof of purchase, photographs, and any other information needed to validate the claim. Credit card information may be requested for shipping charges on replacement parts after 30 days of purchase.
