Install secondary drain pan for units above living space; route drain to visible location.
Follow steps for installing the unit in an upflow configuration, including panel removal.
Follow steps for installing the unit in a downflow configuration, including panel removal.
Follow specifications for the condenser/heat pump for correct tubing size.
Ensure cut ends are round, burr-free, and clean to prevent refrigerant leaks.
Units with flowrator pistons may need piston changes for mix-matched applications.
Inspect supply voltage for single-phase, ensure agreement with unit nameplate.
Select wire size based on MCA, NEC/CSA standards, and voltage drop for proper operation.
Install NEC/CEC approved overcurrent device; size larger than MCA but not exceeding MOP.
Connect building supply to stripped black/red wires and ground screw in electrical compartment.
Use terminal block provided with HKS kit for power supply and air handler connections.
Install heater kit circuit breakers; use lugs for power supply connection.
Connect 24V control voltage to thermostat and condenser; use 18AWG wire up to 100ft.
