Why is my Ambient Weather Station not reporting data to Wunderground.com?
    • E
      Edward BarnesAug 15, 2025
There might be several reasons why your Ambient Weather Station isn't reporting data to Wunderground.com: 1. Double-check that your password or key is correct. It should be the same password you used when registering on Wunderground.com and should not begin with a non-alphanumeric character. 2. Verify your station ID is correct. Ensure it's in all caps and that you haven't mistakenly substituted an 'O' for a '0' or vice versa. 3. Confirm that the date and time are accurate on your console. Incorrect date or time settings can cause the station to report old, non-real-time data. 4. Ensure your time zone is set correctly to avoid reporting outdated information. 5. Examine your router's firewall settings, as the console transmits data via Port 80.

Why is my Ambient Weather Station time off by an hour?
    • O
      opetersAug 18, 2025
If your Ambient Weather Station's time is off by increments of an hour, the time zone is likely entered incorrectly.

What to do if my Ambient Weather Station has no WiFi connection?
    • W
      William HodgeAug 21, 2025
If your Ambient Weather Station is not connecting to WiFi, consider the following: 1. Check if the WiFi symbol is displayed on the console. This indicates a successful wireless connection. 2. Verify that your modem's WiFi settings (network name and password) are correct. 3. Ensure the console is plugged into AC power, as it won't connect to WiFi on battery power alone. 4. Confirm that your router is operating on a 2.4 GHz band, as the console doesn't support 5 GHz routers. If you have a dual-band router, disable the 5 GHz band and enable the 2.4 GHz band. 5. Note that the console does not support guest networks.

What to do if Ambient Weather Station rain gauge reports rain when it is not raining?
    • J
      James MillerAug 25, 2025
If your Ambient Weather Station's rain gauge is reporting rain when it's not actually raining, it might be due to an unstable mounting. Ensure you have a stable and level mounting solution, as any sway in the mounting pole could cause the tipping bucket to incorrectly register rainfall.

Why does my Ambient Weather Station temperature sensor read too high?
    • R
      rebecca55Aug 28, 2025
If your Ambient Weather Station's temperature sensor reads too high during the day, make sure the sensor array isn't near heat sources like buildings, pavement, walls, or air conditioning units. You can also use the calibration feature to offset any installation issues caused by radiant heat.

How to fix Ambient Weather Station outdoor sensor array not communicating?
    • J
      Jorge HarrellSep 1, 2025
If the outdoor sensor array isn't communicating with the display console, the sensor array may have initiated improperly and the data is registered by the console as invalid, and the console must be reset. Reset the console by pressing the reset button for 3 seconds with an open ended paperclip to completely discharge the voltage. Remove the batteries and wait one minute while covering the solar panel to drain the voltage. Reinsert the batteries and resync the console with the sensor array from about 10 feet away. The LED next to the battery compartment should flash every 16 seconds.

What to do if Ambient Weather Station relative pressure is incorrect?
    • A
      Angela MooreSep 4, 2025
If the relative pressure on your Ambient Weather Station doesn't match an official reporting station, check that you're viewing the relative pressure and not the absolute pressure. If you are viewing the absolute pressure, select the relative pressure. Also, ensure you've properly calibrated the sensor to an official local weather station.

Why Ambient Weather Station wind vane does not spin freely?
    • K
      Kristine BrownSep 7, 2025
The wind vane on your Ambient Weather Station is designed not to spin as freely as the wind cups. This dampening prevents it from spinning with the slightest breeze, which would result in constantly variable wind readings. The added resistance allows the wind vane to change direction with a wind speed of 2 – 3 mph, providing much better wind direction tracking.

What to do for battery issue in Ambient Weather Station outside sensor array?
    • D
      Donna Carlson DDSSep 12, 2025
If you're experiencing battery issues with your Ambient Weather Station's outside sensor array, replace the batteries. If you've recently replaced them, double-check the polarity to ensure they're correctly installed. If the sensor is flashing every 16 seconds, there may be a temporary loss of communication due to interference or other location factors, or the batteries may have been changed in the sensor array and the console has not been reset. Try powering down and then up the console by removing AC power and batteries, waiting 10 seconds, and then reinserting them.
