Instrument control - secondary stages
• Vacuum chuck - The vacuum chuck mounts on top of
the spindle. The vacuum is turned on and off using a
button in the status bar.
• Carousel (Multi-part stage) - The Carousel mounts
on top of the spindle and provides a secondary rotary
axis. A set of parts would be positioned around the
carousel and then each one rotated so it was over the
spindle axis from where all types of measurement can
be made.
• UHPR (Indexing stage) - Ultra High Precision
Roundness (UHPR) measurement requires a Talyrond
®
595 UHPR PRO using a specially designed rotary stage
to achieve roundness accuracies down to ± 5 nm.
The icons for secondary stages will be displayed in grey. An example of
‘Move to position’ is shown below.
