Function Description

The AMP Research BedStep is a deployable and retractable step that assists users in accessing their truck bed. It operates by deploying downward using the user's left foot on the forward outside corner of the step pad and retracting by kicking the underside of the step pad. This mechanism allows for convenient and quick access to the truck bed without needing to climb onto the tire or bumper. The step is designed to be stored in a retracted position when driving, ensuring it does not interfere with vehicle operation or aesthetics.

Torque Specifications for Installation:
- Linkage assembly to linkage: 33-lbs/44 N-m
- Torque bolt to 16ft-lbs/22N-m (for certain steps)
- Torque bolt to 86 ft-lbs / 116 Nm (for certain steps)
- Torque bolt to 41ft-lbs / 55 N-m (for certain steps)
- Insert PT Screws: 6 ft-lbs / 8 N.m.

- T-25 Torx wrench
- 13mm Box Wrench
- 3" Extension
- 15 & 21mm Deep Well Sockets
- 15mm, 21mm, 6" Ext (for certain steps)
Warranty: Three years from date of purchase. This warranty covers defects in material and workmanship under normal use and proper maintenance.

Usage Features

Easy Deployment and Retraction: The step deploys by pressing down with the left foot on the forward outside corner of the step pad and retracts by kicking the underside of the step pad.
Always Use Appropriate Hand Holds: When stepping up to or down from your truck's cargo bed, it is crucial to always use appropriate hand holds for safety.
Retracted Position During Driving: The BedStep should always be stowed in the retracted position when driving to prevent damage or interference.
Simple Assembly: The installation process involves assembling the bracket to the step pad, attaching the linkage assembly to the frame, and securing the step.
No Drilling Required: The installation process typically involves utilizing existing mounting points on the vehicle frame, minimizing the need for modifications.
Over-tightening Warning: Over-tightening during installation may damage the step pad or other components. Specific torque values are provided to prevent this.

Maintenance Features

Cleaning: The step pad surface and linkage arms should be washed with mild soap and water using a soft brush or sponge to dislodge any mud, dirt, or accumulated road grime. Rinse with fresh water.
Avoid Waxes, Lubricants, or Protectants: To prevent slipping, avoid applying waxes, lubricants, or protectants like Armor All® to the step surface.
Regular Inspection: Periodically check all fasteners and connections to ensure they remain secure and properly torqued.
Warranty Claim: In the event of a warranty claim, the customer must call the manufacturer at the provided number before returning any items. Proof of purchase and a copy of the warranty form are required for warranty work. Damage caused by accidents, fire, vandalism, negligence, misinstallation, misuse, acts of God, or by defective parts not manufactured by AMP Research are not covered under the warranty.
