Why does my Apeks BLACK SAPPHIRE have restricted airflow?
    • J
      James BrooksAug 11, 2025
Restricted airflow or high inhalation resistance in your Apeks Diving Instrument can occur for several reasons. The cylinder valve may not be completely open, so ensure it is and check the fill pressure. The cylinder valve might need servicing; try switching to a different cylinder. The conical or disc filter could be clogged, in which case, replace the filter. Also, a very low medium pressure could be the cause; adjust the medium pressure to between 9 and 10 bar.

    • S
      Shannon FrankAug 21, 2025
High pressure creep in your Apeks Diving Instrument, which can also cause second stage leaks, can be due to several issues. The HP Valve might be worn or damaged, in that case replace it. The removable HP Valve Seat could be worn or damaged, so replace the removable HP Valve Seat. The ‘O’ Ring on the Removable HP Valve Seat might be damaged or worn, then replace the ‘O’ Ring. Damage to the 5th Port internal wall can also cause this issue, so replace the 5th Port. A damaged or worn ‘O’ Ring inside the 5th Port may be the reason, then replace the ‘O’ Ring. Finally, a damaged or worn ‘O’ Ring on the 5th Port can be the cause, so replace the ‘O’ Ring.
