What to do if Apera Instruments Test Equipment calibration is successful, but reading is not accurate?
    • T
      Terry BentleySep 13, 2025
If your Apera Instruments Test Equipment calibrates successfully but the reading remains inaccurate, consider these possibilities: the probe may be aged and needs replacement. Air bubbles around the sensor can interfere with readings, so stir the solution to remove them. A clogged junction can also cause inaccuracies; clean the probe and soak it in 3M KCL soaking solution overnight. When comparing with other testers, calibrate all testers using the same standards and test a third point to determine the most accurate one.

Why reading is always slowly changing on Apera Instruments Test Equipment?

      Melissa DiazSep 15, 2025
If the reading on your Apera Instruments Test Equipment is always slowly changing and won’t stabilize, it could be due to a contaminated probe (clean it with Apera’s cleaning solution or detergent water), a clogged junction (clean the probe and soak it in 3M KCL soaking solution overnight), or an aged probe (replace it). If you're testing low ionic strength solutions like tap water, be patient and wait 1-5 minutes for the reading to stabilize. If it still doesn't stabilize, add 1ml of Apera 3M KCL solution to 1000ml of test solution.

Why is the reading jumping erratically on my Apera Instruments Premium?

      Joe FoxNov 22, 2025
If the reading on your Apera Instruments Test Equipment is jumping erratically, there are several potential causes: * Ensure the probe is immersed at least 1 inch into the solution. * Stir the solution to remove any air bubbles around or inside the probe. * Check the probe's connector to make sure it's not broken and is correctly connected. Align the electrode and instrument correctly before plugging it in, and ensure the electrode connector is not exposed to the air too long. * The probe may be aged and need replacement. * When comparing with other testers, make sure to perform a 2-point calibration for all testers in the same standards, then test a 3rd point. Whichever gives a more accurate reading in the 3rd point standard is the most accurate one. Remember that test strips o...
