1. Correct Set Up and Calibration of Hemoflow 400
The Hemoflow 400 is a sensitive medical device
For optimum performance allow the Hemoflow 400 to adjust to the room temperature before
calibration
If the device needs to be moved to the other side of the donation chair (for a donor using the
opposite arm), remove the Hemoflow 400 from the table before the move
Dropping Hemoflow 400s can cause significant internal damage that may not be evident from
the outside
Dropping the Hemoflow 400 directly onto its tray will cause damage to the load cell by pushing
the barb connectors upwards and directly affect the weighing function
Calibration of a Hemoflow 400 is not a weight check, the user is telling the machine what 500g
equals
Calibrate the device in a regulated environment i.e., wait for all other session set up to be
complete to avoid any movement that may affect the Hemoflow 400
If possible, allow the Hemoflow 400 to adjust to room temperature before calibrating
Do not write on the table while the device is calibrating
Ensure there are no additional objects in or touching the tray
Follow the on-screen instructions as they appear for best results
The tray arms are securely
clipped into the barb
connectors and the brackets at
the back of the tray, making an
audible click
