7. MAINTENANCE
7.1 EVERYDAY MAINTENANCE OPERATIONS
Maintenance operations must be carried out at least once a year in accordance with local regulations.
Maintenance operations must be carried out by lawful personnel, their name has to be written on the "System
book".
The end user shall fix service operation dates according to system specifications. The internal boiler state is to
be controlled periodically by opening the front door to avoid a long run mis-functioning. Take away all the metal
coils in ducts to avoid deposits of soot.
Usual maintenance operations consist in ordinary furnace and duct cleaning. After having opened the door,
extract spiral coils and clean ducts by means of the proper mop.
If there is soot in the smoke chamber lower part, take it away through side doors.
Completely brush and scrape, if necessary, the furnace in order to remove deposits of sulphur and acid
substances.
If there are carbon deposits on furnace walls, control nozzles and the burner combustion head adjustment.
After the above described operations carry out a combustion analysis as required by present regulations.
7.2 SEASONAL MAINTENANCE OPERATIONS
Both the boiler and the system must be kept full of water.
First of all carry out all the usual service operations.
Clean with an alkaline sodium solution socked swab all the metal surfaces that come into contact with burnt
gases, to avoid deposits of sulphur. This cleaning is particular advisable for smoke ducts.
After the boiler is completely dried, lubricate furnace and ducts by means of heavy or light oil not to allow
moisture reach metal surfaces.
It is necessary to put into the furnace a case containing quicklime, which absorbs moisture and keeps the boiler
dry. Close all the boiler openings both on the front side and on the chimney side.
