This document describes the Argo Alice Babe Dehumidifier, a highly efficient appliance designed for domestic use.
Function Description
The Argo Alice Babe Dehumidifier is designed to remove excess moisture from the air, helping to maintain optimal humidity levels in a room. It operates by drawing in humid air, cooling it to condense the moisture, and then releasing drier air back into the room. The collected water, or condensate, can be stored in a removable tank or continuously drained via a hose. The unit is equipped with a compressor and a fan, and it can operate in various modes, including continuous dehumidification and a SMART mode that aims for optimal humidity.
Important Technical Specifications
- Refrigerant: R290 (a natural greenhouse gas with a Global Warming Potential (GWP) of 3). The unit contains 0.05 kg of R290, equivalent to 0.00015 Tons CO2.
- Voltage and Frequency: 220-240V/50Hz.
- Operating Temperature Range: +5°C to +32°C. The manufacturer recommends against using it in room temperatures lower than 5°C.
- Minimum Room Area for Installation/Operation/Storage: 4 m².
- Continuous Condensate Drainage: Requires a PVC hose with an inner diameter of 14 mm (not supplied).
- Humidity Adjustment: Can be set from 35% to 80% in 5% steps, or to continuous drain (CO) for maximum dehumidification.
Usage Features
- Portability: The dehumidifier is equipped with wheels for easy movement.
- Control Panel: Features buttons for ON/OFF, FILTER RESET, and RELATIVE HUMIDITY ADJUSTER (+/-).
- LED Indicators:
- RUNNING LED: Indicates the dehumidifier is working.
- FULL LED: Illuminates when the water tank is full, triggering a 10-second beep and stopping operation.
- CONTINUOUS LED: Shows when the dehumidifier is running in continuous mode.
- CLEAN FILTER LED: Indicates that the air filter needs cleaning (after 250 hours of operation).
- Defrost Mode: If ice forms on the evaporator at low temperatures, the unit automatically enters defrost mode. The compressor stops, but the fan continues running.
- Auto Restart: The dehumidifier restarts automatically after a power failure.
- Memory Function: The unit retains its settings during a power failure.
- Condensate Collection: Water can be collected in the front tank or continuously drained.
- Placement: Must be positioned at least 50 cm away from walls or other obstacles to ensure proper heat dissipation. All windows should be closed to maximize dehumidification efficiency.
- Safety Delay: After any interruption, there is a 3-minute delay before the compressor restarts to prevent damage.
Maintenance Features
- Exterior Cleaning: Use a damp, soft cloth. Avoid solvents, petrol, xylene, talcum powder, or abrasive brushes. Do not immerse the appliance in water. Always unplug before cleaning.
- Water Tank Cleaning: Remove and clean the tank every few weeks to prevent mold and bacteria. Fill with clean water and a small amount of detergent, swill, empty, and rinse thoroughly.
- Air Filter Cleaning:
- Remove the water tank.
- Pull down the flap to extract the filter.
- Wash the filter with warm soapy water. Do not use alcohol, benzene, or other aggressive products.
- Allow the filter to dry naturally.
- Reinsert the filter by pushing it upwards until it clicks into place.
- Reposition the water tank.
- The CLEAN FILTER LED will illuminate after 250 hours of operation, signaling that the filter needs cleaning. Press the FILTER button after cleaning to reset the indicator.
- Operating without the filter can reduce efficiency and increase energy consumption.
Safety Instructions
- Always keep the unit vertical, especially after opening the packaging, and wait two hours before operating to allow the refrigerant to stabilize.
- Ensure the plug is fully inserted and clean. Do not use multiple adapters or touch the plug with wet hands.
- Disconnect mains power when not in use or during cleaning.
- Do not bend, drag, or twist the power cord. If the cord or plug is damaged, it must be replaced by a service center.
- Do not place heavy objects on the appliance.
- Empty the water tank before moving the appliance to prevent spills.
- Do not tilt the dehumidifier more than 45 degrees or turn it upside down.
- Do not operate on unstable or sloping surfaces.
- Do not insert objects or sharp instruments into the air outlet grille.
- Do not cover air intake and outlet grilles.
- In case of anomaly, switch off and unplug immediately. Do not dismantle, repair, or modify the product. Contact an after-sales service center for malfunctions.
- Do not immerse the power cord, plug, or any part of the appliance in water.
- Do not expose to direct sunlight or sources of heat.
- Keep flammable gases, oils, insecticides, and paints away from the appliance.
- Do not move the appliance while it is operating.
- This appliance can be used by children aged 8 and above, and persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, provided they are supervised and instructed on safe use. Children shall not play with the appliance or perform cleaning/maintenance without supervision. Children aged 3 to 8 years may only turn the appliance on/off if it is in its normal operating position and they have been instructed on safe use. They must not plug in, adjust, clean, or perform maintenance.
- The refrigerant R290 is flammable and inodorous. Do not pierce or burn the appliance. Ensure the appliance is stored in a room without continuously operating ignition sources (e.g., open flames, gas appliances, electric heaters). For repairs involving R290, strictly follow manufacturer's instructions.
