Overview

This document provides operating instructions and safety guidelines for the Argo Dry Digit Evo 13 and Dry Digit Evo 17 dehumidifiers.

Function Description:

The Argo Dry Digit Evo 13 and Dry Digit Evo 17 are highly efficient dehumidifiers designed for domestic use. Their primary function is to remove excess moisture from the air, thereby improving indoor air quality and preventing issues related to high humidity, such as mold and mildew growth. The units operate by drawing in humid air, passing it over a cooling coil where moisture condenses, and then expelling drier air back into the room. The collected water is stored in a removable tank or can be continuously drained via a hose.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Refrigerant: Both models use R290, a natural greenhouse gas with a Global Warming Potential (GWP) of 3.
    • Dry Digit Evo 13: Contains 0.06 kg of R290, equivalent to 0.00018 tons of CO2.
    • Dry Digit Evo 17: Contains 0.08 kg of R290, equivalent to 0.00024 tons of CO2.
  • Flammability: R290 is a flammable and inodorous refrigerant. The appliance must be stored and operated in a room with a floor area larger than 4 m² and without continuously operating ignition sources.
  • Power Supply: 220-240V/50Hz.
  • Operating Temperature Range: Designed to operate at ambient temperatures from +5°C to +32°C. Operation below 5°C may cause ice formation on the evaporator, triggering defrost mode. It is recommended not to use the dehumidifier in room temperatures lower than 5°C.
  • Dehumidification Control: Humidity can be set from 35% to 80% in 5% steps, or continuous dehumidification (CO) can be selected for maximum moisture removal.
  • Fan Speed: Two settings: LOW and HIGH.
  • Timer: Delayed ON/OFF function with 2 or 4-hour delay options.
  • Condensate Drainage: Water can be collected in the internal tank or continuously drained using a 14 mm internal diameter PVC hose (not included).

Usage Features:

  • Control Panel: Features an ON/OFF button, FILTER button, RELATIVE HUMIDITY ADJUSTER buttons (+/-), DISPLAY, FAN SPEED button, and TIMER ON/OFF button.
  • Display: Shows the relative humidity setting.
  • LED Indicators:
    • TIMER LED: Indicates 2 or 4-hour timer setting.
    • HIGH/LOW FAN SPEED LED: Shows current fan speed.
    • TANK FULL LED: Illuminates when the water tank is full, and the unit stops operating, accompanied by a 10-second beep.
    • STAND BY LED: Indicates the unit is in standby mode.
    • CONTINUOUS LED: Shows continuous dehumidification mode is active.
    • FILTER RESET LED: Illuminates after 250 hours of operation, indicating the air filter needs cleaning.
  • Appliance Start-up: Place on a flat, stable, heat-resistant surface, at least 1 meter from flammable/heat-sensitive materials and 50 cm from walls. Ensure the water tank is correctly positioned. Connect to a suitable power socket and turn on.
  • Operating Logic: The dehumidifier will only operate if the room's humidity level is above the set value and will continue until the set level is reached, or the tank is full.
  • Compressor Delay: After any interruption, there is a 3-minute delay before the dehumidifier restarts to protect the compressor.
  • Warm Air Emission: During operation, the compressor generates heat, causing the appliance to emit warm air and potentially increasing room temperature, which is normal.
  • Water Tank Emptying: When the tank is full, the unit stops. The tank should be removed using two hands, emptied, and reinstalled for the unit to resume operation.
  • Continuous Drainage: For uninterrupted operation, a PVC hose can be connected to the condensate draining hole.
  • Auto Restart: The dehumidifier will automatically restart with previous settings after a power failure.
  • Memory Function: The unit retains its settings during a power failure.

Maintenance Features:

  • Exterior Surface Cleaning:
    • Always unplug the unit before cleaning to prevent electric shock.
    • Use a damp, soft cloth.
    • Do not use solvents, petrol, xylene, talcum powder, or brushes, as these can damage the surface or color.
    • Do not wet or immerse the appliance in water.
  • Water Tank Cleaning:
    • Remove and clean the tank every few weeks to prevent mold and bacteria.
    • Fill with clean water and a small amount of detergent, swill, rinse thoroughly, and empty.
  • Air Filter Cleaning:
    • The filter removes dust and dirt. A clogged filter increases electricity consumption.
    • Clean the filter every 250 hours of operation (indicated by the FILTER RESET LED).
    • Cleaning Steps:
      1. Compress the two tabs and pull the filter out.
      2. Clean with a vacuum cleaner or wash with clean water (max 40°C).
      3. Do not use alcohol, benzene, or other aggressive products.
      4. Allow the filter to dry naturally.
      5. Reposition it in the slot.
      6. Press the FILTER button (Dry Digit 13 and 17 only) to reset the indicator.
  • Servicing: In case of anomalies or malfunctions, switch off and unplug the appliance immediately. Do not dismantle, repair, or modify the product. Contact an authorized after-sales service center directly. Repairs by unqualified personnel can be dangerous.
