Overview

The Argon Audio Forte Quick Start Guide provides essential information for setting up and operating Argon Audio Forte speakers, emphasizing environmental responsibility and user safety.

Function Description

The Argon Audio Forte speakers are designed to deliver high-quality audio playback from various sources. They feature multiple input options, including Bluetooth, Optical (Optical1, Optical2), AUX, and Phono, allowing for versatile connectivity with different audio devices such as smartphones, TVs, turntables, and other media players. The speakers are active, meaning they have a built-in amplifier in one of the units (the left speaker), eliminating the need for a separate external amplifier. They also include a subwoofer output for connecting an active subwoofer, enhancing bass response. The Forte speakers support remote control functions from common TV brands like Samsung, Sony, and LG for volume and mute control via IR remotes.

Usage Features

Quick Start Setup:

  1. Speaker Connection: Connect the two speakers using the provided speaker cable.
  2. Power Connection: Plug the power cord into an electrical outlet and into the back of the left speaker (the one with the amplifier). An LED light on the speaker will illuminate, indicating power.
  3. Bluetooth Pairing: To pair a Bluetooth device, turn on the speakers and press and hold the "PAIRING" button on the remote control for approximately 3 seconds. The LED will blink, indicating pairing mode. Activate Bluetooth on your playback device, scan for "ARGON FORTE," and select it to connect. The LED will turn solid blue once connected, signaling readiness for music playback.
  4. Input Selection: Use the included remote control to select from the available inputs: Optical1, Optical2, AUX, and Phono.
  5. Turntable Connection: When connecting a turntable to the Phono input, remember to also connect the turntable's ground wire to the metal GND screw on the speaker.
  6. Subwoofer Connection: For an active subwoofer, connect it to the Forte speaker's SUB OUTPUT using an RCA cable.

Basic Operating Features:

  • Auto Power Up (APU): The speakers will automatically power on and switch to the correct input when they receive a signal from any connected source (except the Phono input), provided they are not already powered on and playing from another source.
  • Disabling APU: To power off the speakers with APU disabled, press and hold the power button on the remote control for 5 seconds. APU will be re-enabled the next time the speakers are turned on.
  • Bluetooth Reset: Press and hold the "PAIRING" button to reset all Bluetooth connections.
  • Optimal Performance: A running-in time of approximately 15-20 hours at normal listening level is recommended before final positioning, allowing the drive units to settle and perform as intended. For optimal sound, place speakers at ear level and not too close to a wall.

Maintenance Features

Environmental Responsibility:

Argon Audio emphasizes environmental consciousness by providing a quick start guide instead of a full printed manual, saving over 20 tons of paper annually.
