Why my Asko D5554 Dishwasher does not start?
    • C
      Chelsea MillsAug 18, 2025
Your Asko Dishwasher might not be starting due to several reasons. First, ensure you've turned on the main power switch by pressing and holding it until the display lights up. Also, check that the door is properly closed, the plug is securely in the power outlet, the water supply valve is open, and a fuse/circuit breaker hasn't tripped. Also, verify that the Delayed start option hasn't been selected. If a whirring sound (the drain pump) is heard from the dishwasher and does not stop when the main power switch is turned off, turn off the water supply valve, pull out the plug and call the Customer Care Center. Finally, check for overflow/leaks.

How to fix Asko Dishwasher when dishes are not clean?
    • M
      melissa11Aug 20, 2025
If your Asko dishwasher isn't cleaning dishes properly, several factors could be at play. Start by checking the spray arms to ensure they rotate freely; remove and clean them if necessary, and make sure dishes aren't blocking their movement. Consider that old detergent loses effectiveness, so avoid large packages. Ensure correct detergent dosage according to water hardness, as too much or too little affects results. Select a higher temperature or a more powerful program if the current one is too weak. Load dishes correctly, avoiding obstructions and tall glasses in corners. Secure dishes to prevent them from toppling, and ensure the filter is correctly fitted. Screw the filter firmly into place referring to the Care and maintenance instructions section.

What to do if Asko Dishwasher has water remaining above the filters?
    • D
      Daniel HarmonAug 22, 2025
If water remains in your Asko dishwasher above the filters, it could be due to a blocked or kinked drain hose. Loosen the drain hose to check for and remove any clogs. Ensure the cone-shaped part of the drain boot is cut to the maximum size of the fitting where it attaches. Also, make sure the hose is free from kinks and sharp bends. Blocked filters can also cause this issue, so clean the coarse and fine filters. Finally, check for debris in the drain pump and clean it, referring to the Care and maintenance instructions section.

Why do dishes have spots or films after using Asko D5554?
    • N
      Natalie JohnsonAug 26, 2025
Spots or films on dishes from your Asko dishwasher can be due to an incorrect rinse aid dosage setting. See the sections Rinse aid and Settings. Also, high temperatures and excessive detergent can etch crystal. Wash crystal at a low temperature with a conservative amount of detergent. Contact the detergent manufacturer.

Why do spots appear on stainless steel or silver in Asko D5554 Dishwasher?
    • M
      Michael Hinton DDSAug 28, 2025
Spots on stainless steel or silver in your Asko dishwasher can occur because certain foods like mustard, mayonnaise, lemon, vinegar, salt, and dressings can cause spots if left for too long. Rinse off these foods if you're not starting the dishwasher immediately, or use the Rinse & Hold program. Also, stainless steel can cause spots on silver if they come into contact during washing; aluminum can also cause spots on dishes. Ensure silver and stainless steel items do not touch during dishwashing.

If your Asko dishwasher leaves dishes not dry enough, you can try a few things. First, activate the Long dry option. Make sure you fully load the dishwasher. How to fix Asko D5554 Dishwasher that leaves a sticky white/blue film on the dishes?
    • H
      haysdavidSep 1, 2025
If your Asko dishwasher is leaving a sticky white/blue film on the dishes, this is likely due to a rinse aid dosage setting that is too high. Reduce the amount. See the sections Rinse aid and Settings. If you have very soft water, you may want to dilute the rinse aid 50:50 with water.

Why do I hear a rattling sound when dishwashing in my Asko Dishwasher?
    • J
      Jason BlankenshipSep 4, 2025
A rattling sound during dishwashing with your Asko dishwasher suggests that dishes may not be correctly placed or the spray arms are not rotating freely. To resolve this, ensure that the dishes are placed securely within the dishwasher. Manually spin the spray arms to confirm they can rotate without obstruction.

How to fix bad odor in Asko Dishwasher?
    • R
      rmillerSep 7, 2025
A bad odor in your Asko dishwasher can be caused by dirt around the seals and in corners. Clean these areas with a dish brush and a low-foaming cleaner. Also, selecting low-temperature programs for extended periods can contribute to odors. Run a program with a higher temperature about once a month to help eliminate the smell.
