Overview

The ASKO HG1145AB / HG1ABE3A and HG8144BGBx / HG1ABE3A are gas hobs designed for cooking, inspired by Scandinavian design. These appliances are intended for domestic use and come with a range of features for safe and efficient operation, as well as easy maintenance.

Function Description:

The gas hob is equipped with multiple burners, including semi-rapid burners and wok burners, allowing for versatile cooking. Each burner has a control knob for ignition and adjustment of flame intensity, from high to low settings. A thermocouple safety pilot is integrated to ensure gas supply is cut off if the flame extinguishes. The wok burner offers specific settings for wok cooking and roasting, with an inner ring for wok setting and an outer ring for roasting. The appliance also includes a timer function that can automatically switch off one or more burners after a set duration, or act as a kitchen timer without affecting burner operation. An emergency stop button is provided to switch off all burners instantly.

Important Technical Specifications:

The hobs are gas-powered, with specific models HG1145AB and HG8144BGBx identified. They feature 4 gas burners. The energy efficiency for the gas hob (EEgas hob) is 60.6%. Burner specifications vary by gas type:

The appliance requires a gas connection of 1/2” ISO 228 / ISO 7-1 / EN 10226-1 (1/2" ISO 228 / 1/2" ISO 228 FR only) and must comply with national and local regulations regarding gas and electrical connections. It is an earthed appliance, and the electrical connection must provide full disconnection under overvoltage category III conditions. The minimum free space around the appliance for installation is 650 mm (A), 900 mm (B), 450 mm (C), and 120 mm (D). The cut-out dimensions for built-in installation are 1114 mm in length and 412 mm in width, with a depth of 55-70 mm.

Usage Features:

  • Pan Compatibility: Users are advised to use cookware with suitable diameters to ensure flames remain under the pan, preventing energy loss and overheating of handles. Minimum and maximum pan bottom diameters are specified for each burner type:
    • Wok burner: 18 cm (min) / 30 cm (max)
    • Rapid burner: 16 cm (min) / 26 cm (max)
    • Semi-rapid burner: 14 cm (min) / 22 cm (max)
    • Simmer burner: 12 cm (min) / 22 cm (max)
  • Accessories: A wok ring is provided or obtainable as an accessory for extra stability when using round-based woks on the wok burner. A small pan grid is also available for very small pans, but should not be used on the wok burner.
  • Burner Assembly: Burner parts must be assembled correctly using guide ridges for effective functioning. Pan supports should be placed vertically and positioned using notches on the glass top to ensure stability.
  • Ignition and Adjustment: To ignite a burner, press and turn the control knob anticlockwise. Keep the knob depressed for at least 3 seconds to activate the thermocouple safety pilot. The wok selector ring allows switching between wok and roasting settings.
  • Timer Functionality: The timer can be set for up to 6 hours. Pressing the timer button repeatedly selects the desired burner, and the '+' and '-' buttons adjust the time. A beep signals the end of the set time, and the burner switches off automatically. The timer can also be used as a kitchen timer without affecting burner operation.
  • Safety Precautions:
    • Do not touch hot parts during or immediately after use.
    • Keep children under 8 years old away from the appliance unless continuously supervised.
    • Never store items on cooking surfaces to prevent fire hazards.
    • Supervise cooking processes, especially short-term ones.
    • Be cautious when cooking with fat or oil, as unsupervised cooking can lead to fire.
    • Do not extinguish grease fires with water; switch off the appliance and cover flames.
    • Avoid flambéing under a cooker hood.
    • Do not use the hob as a worktop or for heating rooms.
    • Do not warm closed tins on the hob.
