The ATAG VA981IRT is a dishwasher designed for household and similar use, such as staff kitchens, farms, hotels, motels, and bed & breakfast establishments. It features various wash programs and options to cater to different levels of dirtiness and types of dishes. Key programs include:

  • Auto Wash: Automatically adjusts water consumption and temperature based on dish dirtiness. Requires five initial runs to adapt fully.
  • Time Program: Allows setting a desired running time (30 minutes to 3 hours) for slightly to very dirty dishes.
  • Heavy Wash: For very dirty items like pans, casserole dishes, and oven dishes.
  • Normal Wash: A powerful program for daily use, removing dried leftovers, but not burnt food. Offers maximum rinse effect and longer duration than Daily wash.
  • Daily Wash: Effective for daily use with slightly dried leftovers, but not burnt food.
  • Delicate Wash: For lightly soiled glasses and porcelain, suitable for fragile items. Short dry option is recommended for extra caution.
  • Eco Wash: The most effective program for normally dirty dishes in terms of combined energy and water consumption. This program is used for energy labelling information.
  • Upper Half/Lower Half: Programs for washing dishes specifically in the upper or lower basket, respectively.
  • Mixed Wash: For lightly soiled dishes in the upper basket and heavily soiled dishes in the lower basket, includes a prewash.
  • Quick Wash: For slightly dirty glasses and porcelain, such as coffee cups.
  • Super Quick Wash: A short 15-minute program for very slightly dirty dishes.
  • Rinse & Dry: A program comprising rinse with heating and drying, suitable for rinsing and heating clean glass jars.
  • Rinse & Hold: Used to rinse dishes while waiting for the dishwasher to be fully loaded.

The dishwasher includes an overflow guard function that pumps out water and turns off the supply if the water level exceeds normal. It also has a child lock (button lock) to prevent unintended starts.
