Answering system
Message window displays
The message window on the telephone base displays the total number of
messages. See the following table for other message window displays.
0 There are no messages in the answering system.

Aer a power failure, the number in the message window ashes to
indicate that the date and time need to be set.
1-99 X Total number of messages and memos.
X Current message number during old message playback.
1-99
(ashing)
X Total number of new messages and memos. The number ashes when
there are new messages that have not been reviewed.
X Current message number during new message playback.
X Aer a power failure, the number in the message window ashes to
indicate that the date and time need to be set.
1-99 and F
(alternating)
Memory is full. Messages must be deleted before new messages can be
recorded.
