Why does my AVANT 500 engine not crank?
    • M
      Morgan MartinJul 27, 2025
If the AVANT Compact Loader's engine doesn't crank, start by checking if the main switch is turned on. Also, inspect the battery to ensure it's adequately charged. If the battery voltage is too low, charge it. Examine the fuses; if a fuse is blown, replace it, but if it blows again, contact service. Finally, verify that the battery cables are securely connected to the posts, cleaning and retightening them if necessary.

Why AVANT 500 Compact Loader engine cranks but does not start?

If the AVANT Compact Loader engine cranks but doesn't start, or starts and stops immediately, begin by checking the fuel level and type. Ensure the tank is filled with the correct fuel. Next, verify that the fuel hoses and fuel filter are clean and not frozen; replace the fuel filter and clean the fuel lines if needed. If it's cold, hold the ignition key in the glow position longer, letting the glow indicator lamp turn off before starting, and extend starting time up to 5 seconds. Also, ensure you are using the correct type of engine oil for cold temperatures. Check that the auxiliary hydraulics control lever is in the center (neutral) position. Lastly, if the battery is discharged or damaged, jump-start it with another battery, then charge or replace it if damaged.

Why is my AVANT 500 hydraulic system overheating?
    • F
      Faith WilsonAug 5, 2025
Your AVANT Compact Loader's hydraulic system may be overheating due to several reasons: the hydraulic oil level might be low, so check and refill it. The oil cooler could be clogged, requiring cleaning of the cooler and fan. A faulty fan could also be the cause, so check, clean, and repair if necessary. If you're using high flow attachments, ensure the auxiliary hydraulics valve is completely opened, and adjust the lever locking plate if needed. Finally, the hydraulic system might be overloaded, so use the attachment at a lower engine rpm, use with 1-pump setting, and check the attachment for faults.

If your AVANT Compact Loader's engine is overheating, the first step is to inspect the radiator for any clogs and clean it, along with the fan, from the engine side. Next, check the coolant level and add coolant if it's low. Also, examine the cooling system for leaks, ensuring the coolant pressure reservoir cap is tight and inspecting all hoses and connections.

Another possible cause is a low coolant level, in which case you should add coolant. Also, check for a leaking cooling system, ensuring the coolant pressure reservoir cap is tight and inspecting the cooling system, hoses, and connections.

      James GonzalesAug 17, 2025
If your AVANT Compact Loader engine cranks but doesn't start, or starts and stops immediately, several factors could be at play. First, ensure you have the correct type of fuel in the tank. Also, make sure that the fuel hoses and fuel filter are clean and have not been frozen. Replace fuel filter, clean fuel lines. In cold ambient temperatures, hold the ignition key in the glow position for a longer period. If the glow indicator lamp is lit, allow it to turn off before starting and extend starting time up to 5 seconds. Ensure you are using the correct type of engine oil. Check that the auxiliary hydraulics control lever is in the center (neutral) position. If the battery is discharged or damaged, jump start it with another battery.
