Avaya™ S8700 Media Server with MCC1 or SCC1 Media Gateway
This job aid provides information on tools required for installing an Avaya™ S8700 Media Server with MCC1 or
SCC1 Media Gateway. It covers the following items:
■ Magneto Optical Server Tool
■ Cable Pass Through Kit
Magneto Optical Server Tool
The Magneto Optical Server Tool (MOST) is used to transfer translation files from a Magneto Optical disk to an
Avaya S8700 Media Server. This tool is used only when migrating call processing translations on a DEFINITY
ECS to an Avaya S8700 Media Server with MCC1 or SCC1 Media Gateway. Refer to
Magneto Optical Server Tool
(MOST) for information on connecting the tool to the media server.
The MOST tool is not shipped with every system but should be available locally.
The MOST tool consists of:
■ External Magneto Optical drive
■ SCSI PCcard
■ External SCSI cable
