INTRODUCTION
Gas detectors are high-technology devices in which the presence of cer-
tain combustible gases triggers an alarm. We recommend to refer to
authorised technicians for their installation, for routine and special
maintenance and for disassembling after 5 years.
The detectors are designed to trigger the alarm off when gas concentra-
tion reaches a threshold between 5% and 15% of the lowest explosion
limit (L.E.I.). The operating conditions are at room temperature between
–5°C and +35°C and a maximum relative humidity of 90%.
TECHNICAL FEATURES
- Rated voltage: 230 Vac – 50 Hz
- Operating ambient temperature:
• reference = 20°C ± 5°C
• range = -5°C to +35°C
- Operating ambient relative humidity:
• reference = 65% ± 10% to 20°C ± 5°C
• range = 30% to 90%
- Alarm relay contact capacity: 8A/250Vca-cosϕ 1 - 5A/250Vca-cosϕ 0,4
- Activation threshold:
• Factory setting: 5000ppM ± 1000ppM, equal to 10% of the L.E.L.
Maximum permitted deviation under extreme temperature and humidity
conditions: 2500ppM to 7500ppM, equal to 5% and 15% of the L.E.L.
- Envelope protection degree: IP42
- Alarm relay protection degree: IP67
Standard Compliance
Gas detector RG2m complies with standards CEI UNI EN 50194 type A
and CEI EN 50270 type 1.
OPERATING DESCRIPTION
Signals
The front part of the device is pierced to facilitate contact between the
gas to be detected and the semiconductor-based sensor. The front of the
device is provide with three leds operating as follows:
