Ignoreltersareappliedtoallmovingobjectsfoundbytheapplicationandshouldbeconguredwithcaretoensurethatno
importantobjectsareignored.
Onlyuseignoreltersifneededanduseasfewltersaspossible.Enableandcongureonelteratatimeandusevisual
conrmationtoverifythesettingsbeforeenablinganotherlter.
Whenconguringalter,startwithasmallltersize,clickSaveandusevisualconrmationtoverifythesettings.
Ifrequired,increasetheltersizeinsmallstepsuntilthenumberofunwantedobjectsisreduced.
SwayingObjectIgnoreFilter
Theswayingobjectlterisusedtoavoiddetectingobjectsthatonlymoveashortdistance,forexamplemovingtrees,agsandtheir
shadows.Usethelterifsuchobjectscausealotoffalsedetections.Iftheswayingobjectsinthescenearelarge,forexamplelarge
pondsorlargetrees,useexcludeareasinsteadofthelter.Thelterwillbeappliedtoallmovingobjectsinsceneand,ifsetto
avaluetoolarge,importantobjectsmightnotbedetected.
Theswayingobjectlterisusedtoavoidtrackingobjectsthatonlymoveashortdistance,forexamplemovingtrees,agsandtheir
shadows.Usethelterifsuchobjectscausealotofunwantedtrackedobjects.Iftheswayingobjectsinthescenearelarge,for
examplelargepondsorlargetrees,useexcludeareasinsteadofthelter.Thelterwillbeappliedtoallmovingobjectsinsceneand,
ifsettoavaluetoolarge,importantobjectsmightnotbetracked.
Whentheswayingobjectlterisenabledandtheapplicationndsamovingobject,theobjectwillnotbereportedasdetected(red
polygoninvisualconrmation)untilithastravelledadistancelargerthanthesetltersize.Thealarmsentbytheapplicationwillbe
sentwhentheobjectisdetected.Ifthealarmisusedtostartarecording,congurethepre-triggertimesothattherecordingalso
includesthetimetheobjectmovedinthescenebeforebeingdetected.
Whentheswayingobjectlterisenabledandtheapplicationndsamovingobject,trackingwillnotstart(redpolygoninvisual
conrmation)untiltheobjecthastravelledadistancelargerthanthesetltersize.Ifthealarmsentbytheapplicationisused
tostartarecording,congurethepre-triggertimesothattherecordingalsoincludesthetimetheobjectmovedinthescene
beforetrackingstarted.
Toenablethelter:
1.SelecttheSwayingobjectsoption.
2.ClickSwayingobjects.
3.Clickonthe
icontoshowtheltersizeintheimage.
4.ClickEnable.
5.Usethemousetoadjusttheltersize.Startwithasmallsize.Objectsmovingadistanceshorterthanthedistancefrom
thecenterofthecrosstooneofthearrowheadswillbeignored.Theltercanbemovedtothelocationofaswaying
objecttomakeiteasiertoadjustthesize.Notethatthelterwillbeappliedtoallobjectsintheimage,notonlytothe
onesatthelocationwherethelterisplaced.
6.ClickSavetoapplythelter.
7.Usevisualconrmationtoverifythesettings.
8.Iftheresultisnotsatisfactory,increasetheltersizeinsmallsteps.
Theltersizecanalsobesetbyenteringavaluebetween10and50intheeld.Thevaluecorrespondstothedistancefromthe
centerofthecrosstooneofthearrowheads.Thevalue100impliesthatanobjectmusttravelfromitsinitialpointtoonethirdofthe
imagewidthorheightbeforebeingdetected.Thevalue50implieshalfthatdistance,thatis,theobjectmusttraveladistanceof
onesixthoftheimagewidthorheightbeforebeingdetected.
Theltersizecanalsobesetbyenteringavaluebetween3and20intheeld.Thevaluecorrespondstothedistancefromthe
centerofthecrosstooneofthearrowheads.Thevalue20impliesthatanobjectmusttravelfromitsinitialpointtoonefthofthe
imagewidthorheightbeforebeingdetected.Thevalue10implieshalfthatdistance,thatis,theobjectmusttraveladistanceof
onetenthoftheimagewidthorheightbeforebeingdetected.
