TheIRcutlterpreventsinfrared(IR)lightfromreachingtheimagesensor.Inpoorlightingconditions,forexampleatnight,orwhen
usinganexternalIRlamp,settheIRcutltertoOff.Thisincreaseslightsensitivityandallowstheproductto“see”infraredlight.The
imageisshowninblackandwhitewhentheIRcutlterisoff.
IfusingautomaticExposurecontrol,settheIRcutltertoAutotoautomaticallyswitchbetweenOnandOffaccordingtothe
lightingconditions.
TheDay/Nightshiftlevelbarhelpsdeterminewhenthecamerawillshiftfromdaymodetonightmode.Normally,thecamera
automaticallychangesmodefromdaytonightwhenverydark(level100intheslider).BysettingDay/Nightshiftleveltoa
lowervalue,thecamerawillchangetonightmodeearlier.
ViewArea
Note
ThisfeatureisavailableonlyifdigitalPTZwasselectedwhenconguringtheproductforthersttimeorafterresetting
tofactorydefault.
Aviewareaisacroppedpartofthefullview.TheviewareaistreatedasavideosourceinLiveViewandhasitsownvideo
streamandPTZsettings.
Whensettingupaviewareaitisrecommendedthatthevideostreamresolutionisthesamesizeasorsmallerthantheviewarea
size.Settingthevideostreamresolutionlargerthantheviewareasizeimpliesdigitallyscaledupvideoaftersensorcapture,
requiringmorebandwidthwithoutaddingimageinformation.
Toenable,gotoVideo&Audio>CameraSettingsandselectEnableViewArea.
Toconguretheviewarea:
1.GotoVideo&Audio>ViewArea.
2.SelectanAspectratioandaVideostreamresolution.
3.Usethemousetomoveandresizetheviewarea.
4.SelectEnablePTZtoenabledigitalPTZfortheviewarea.
5.ClickSavetosavethesettings.
Note
ThePTZfunctionalityisusefulduringinstallationoftheAxisproduct.Useaviewareatocropoutaspecicpartofthe
fullview.
Overlay
Overlaysareusedtoprovideextrainformation,forexampleforforensicvideoanalysisorduringproductinstallationand
conguration.Overlaysaresuperimposedoverthevideostream.
Anoverlaytextcandisplaythecurrentdateandtime,oratextstring.Whenusingatextstring,modierscanbeusedtodisplay
informationsuchasthecurrentbitrateorthecurrentframerate.Forinformationaboutavailablemodiers,seeFileNaming&

.
Itisalsopossibletodisplaytextwhenanactionruleistriggered,seeUseOverlayTextinanActionRule.
Toenableoverlays:
1.GotoVideo&Audio>VideoStreamandselecttheImagetab.
2.Toincludeanoverlayimage,selectIncludeoverlayimageatthecoordinates.Theoverlayimagemustrstbeuploadedto
theAxisproduct,seeOverlayImage.
