Chapter 4: Maintenance and Support
Flashlight Maintenance and Care
The TASER StrikeLight 2 stun ashlight is a sensitive electronic piece of equipment, and should be
handled with care. Avoid dropping and do not use a device that has visible damage.
Function Test
A function test should be done every 30–60 days. The function test is done to verify that the device is
working properly.
To perform a function test:
1 Point the ashlight in a safe direction.
2 Shift the safety switch to the forward (ARMED) position.
3 Conrm that the light is strong.
4 Check the battery status. See Flashlight Button (Chapter 2).
5 Press the trigger button.
View the electrical arc from the top or side of the ashlight. Do not point the ashlight at
your face or have it near your face.
6 Release the trigger button.
7 Shift the safety switch to the rearward (SAFE) position.
Recharging the Battery
Do not charge the battery in temperatures below 32 °F (0 °C) or above 104 °F (40 °C). Charging the
battery in extreme temperatures can damage the battery and risk re.
1 Ensure the safety switch is in the rearward (SAFE) position.
2 Lift the charging door.
