4.3) After charging, install new battery;
Put dielectric grease on the battery terminals to avoid corrosion;
4.4) Connect cables to the proper terminals: positive cable to positive terminal, and negative cable
to negative terminal;
Note: Positive (+) cable is red and larger in diameter; Negative y cable is black and smaller of the two in
diameter.
CONNECT NEGATIVE CABLE LAST.
4.5) Torque terminal bolts to 40 in. / lbs;
4.6) Place rubber pad in bottom of battery tray;
. Securely fasten battery to the vehicle using cover and strap.
z To avoid possibility of explosion, always connect battery cable in the order specified:
RED first; BLACK last. An exploding battery can cause serious injury or death.
z Batteries contain sulfuric acid.
z Always shield eyes with protective eyewear when working around battery acid.
z Battery acid is poisonous and can cause severe burns.
z DO NOT smoke around batteries and keep away from open flame.
