1 Introduction
This quick installation guide shows you how to connect a Basler ace 2 camera to a Smart Vision
Light. It does not show you the complete installation of your vision system and how to obtain
quality images.
For information about how to install and operate a Basler ace 2 camera, refer to the Basler Product
Documentation available at: docs.baslerweb.com.
2 Prerequisites
To use the Basler ace 2 camera with a Smart Vision Light, make sure you have the following items
available:

A Basler ace 2 camera

Make sure that you have a suitable lens and the required accessories to hand.
For information about which mount and lens can be used, see the ace 2 product page of the
Basler website.

A Smart Vision Light of the LSR or RMX series
Read the Smart Vision data sheet carefully, including the safety instructions.

A camera cable: Basler Power-I/O Cable, M8 6p/open, P, 5 m, SAP 2200000315

A lights cable: Smart Vision Lights Cable 5PM12-5/-10, SAP 2200002123, or 2200002124

An external 24V DC power supply
Make sure that the power consumption of the power supply corresponds to the
power consumption of the Smart Vision Light.
