  If your Baum Folding Machines experience wrinkling after the first fold (either across or parallel), it could be due to several reasons. The register guide may not be at right angles to the folding rollers, or the sheet might be drawn too sharply against the register guide. Also, the buckle plate feed stop may not be parallel to the incoming sheet edge, or the folding rollers could be set too tight. To resolve this, correctly set the register guide angle, insert fewer or lighter balls, correct the buckle plate stop setting, and slacken the roller setting.

  If the sheet remains lying on the roller table of the 2nd station or fails to run into the 1st buckle plate of the 2nd folding station of your Baum Folding Machines, it may be due to electrostatic charge in the product caused by friction with rollers and deflectors, coupled with relatively low humidity. Another potential cause is that the damping rods and sheet holder are set too low. To fix this, fit a discharge unit at the exit to the 1st station or arrange for appropriate humidity on the premises. Also, raise the damping rods and sheet holder as necessary.

  If the sheet corners are buckled up or down after the first fold in your Baum Folding Machines, this is likely due to the sheet deflector being set too low. If the corners are buckled upwards, set the upper sheet deflectors back evenly. If the corners are buckled downwards, the lower deflectors must similarly be set back evenly by underlaying pieces of card. Do not alter the basic setting of the deflectors.

  If you notice a crooked perforation after the first fold in your Baum Folding Machines, it could be due to a few reasons. The register guide and buckle plate stop might not be at right angles to each other. There could be a faulty setting of the folding rollers and slitter shaft. Or, the lower buckle plate lip could be crooked. To resolve this, reset the register guide and buckle plate stop, check and reset the folding rollers and slitter shaft as necessary, and set the lower buckle plate lip to the zero position.
