Reassembly can
be done quickly by following
these
instructions:
a)
Paint
with silicone
grease,
the
portion
of
the finned surface
of
the
lower
housing to
be
occupied by
transistors
Q6
and
Q7.
b) On
the finned surface
of the lower
housing,
install
one
mica
washer for
each of
two
transistors,
c) Install
one
nylon
insulator
through
each
of
four bolt
holes
from
inside the
lower housing
(See Figure
4-4),
d)
Place
transistors
Q6
and Q7
in appropriate
positions on
mica
washers.
e)
For
each
transistor,
insert
one bolt
through
collector-lead
lug
and through nylon
insulator, and insert one
bolt
through
nylon insulator
only
(on opposite end of
transistor flange),
f)
Secure
all
four
bolts with
lock
washers and nuts,
g)
Test
each
transistor
with
ohmmeter to
be
certain that
open
circuit (infinite
resistance)
exists
between collector (case)
of transistor and inside of
lower
housing,
If
any
circuit
continuity
is
evident,
remove transistors and reinstall them,
h) Place transistor
covers over
transistors
Q6 and
Q7,
and
press
until secure.
i)
Resolder the
leads removed
from
the base
and
emitter
pins
of
Q6
and Q7.
