The
voltage
regulator
is
designed to
supply
field currents
of
up
to 8 amps
for
short periods, Typically,
two
alternators
connected
in parallel and supplying
a total
of 60 amps to the load, will
require
less than
2
amps total
field
current for
correct operation.
This
re-
quirement
is
well within the
capabilities
of the regulator. In
order
to
provide protection
for the
regulator
in
the
event of a field connection
to
ground
short,
fuses should be
inserted
between regulator
pin
B and
the alternator field windings.
Recommended
fuse
types
are 2
amp, fast
blow, one in each
field
lead.
