Pseudopolling/lmmediate Block Transmit
Operation
of
the ENTER key
or
any
of
the
eight special-function keys stores
an
E
TX
and posi-
tions the cursor
at
the beginning
of
the
text.
In
the
pseudopolling mode, a request
for
service code
(DC1
octal 21)
is
transmitted and the terminal waits
to
receive a clear-to-transmit code (ETB octal 27) before
transmission
of
the
text
begins.
Parity Test
SUPER BEE checks incoming data
for
even
parity
when operating asynchronously
and odd
parity
when operating synchronously.
With this strap installed, no
parity
check
is
made. Transmitted data
is
in the
same
sense
as
received data,
with
the exception
that
data
is
transmitted
with
a mark
parity
bit
with
strap
installed. A
parity
error symbol (reverse video,
backward question mark)
is
displayed whenever
an
invalid character
is
sensed
by the
parity
test.
