3.7.1 Disable GMRP and MMRP
The GARP Multicast Registration Protocol (GMRP) and its successor, the Multiple MAC
Registration Protocol (MMRP) can be used to register group MAC addresses dynamically and
automatically setup multicast forwarding in a device. This also creates a potential attack surface.
It is generally considered more secure to disable GMRP and MMRP. In the delivery state, GMRP
and MMRP are both globally disabled on the device.
