7.3 Low battery indicator
The hearing aid will reduce amplification and play a melody if battery power gets too low. This signal will
recur every 15 minutes until the hearing aids automatically switch off.
i
NOTE: Keep spare batteries on hand.
7.3.1 Low battery indicator when paired with wireless accessories only (optional)
The batteries drain faster when you use Beltone wireless functionalities like streaming audio directly from
your iPhone to your hearing aid. When the batteries deplete, the support of some Beltone wireless acces-
sories shut down. Full functionality returns when you insert a new battery.
The table below shows how the functionality decreases with the depletion of the batteries.

7.4 Insert/Remove hearing aids
For comfort, always turn off your hearing aids before you insert or remove them.
i CAUTION: Never attempt to modify the shape of the hearing aid yourself.
7.4.1 Recognising left and right hearing aid
Your hearing aids are custom-made to fit your ears - right and left hearing aids differ in shape.
Your hearing aids are marked with either a left or a right indication:
The left hearing aid has a blue wax guard, blue shell, or a blue dot.
The right hearing aid has a red wax guard, red shell, or a red dot.
This is easy to remember: Red = Right.
The colour dot must point upwards on your hearing aids.
i
NOTE: Your hearing aids are not interchangeable between ears, so do not swap them.
7.4.2 Insert the hearing aids
The insertion process varies with the shape of your ear canal. A straight ear canal allows for easy insertion.
However, some ear canals have sharper curves and may require more care.
Take some time at home to practice inserting and removing your hearing aids. It may be helpful to position
your elbows on a table and use a mirror.
