Usage Features

Installation:

The heater is designed for wall-mounted installation. It comes with wall brackets, screws, and wall plugs. A template is provided to assist with drilling the fixing positions, ensuring minimum clearance distances are maintained (200mm minimum from ceiling, 200mm minimum from sides, 375mm minimum from floor without deflector bracket, 180mm minimum from shelf with deflector bracket). The appliance must be fixed against a vertical surface and not used as a free-standing unit. It is crucial to use appropriate fixings strong enough to support the weight of the fire and front panel. The lower support brackets must always be used to prevent the heater from lifting. The appliance must be positioned so that the plug is accessible.

Operation (Manual Control):

  • MANUAL ON/OFF SWITCH: Located on the left-hand side, this switch turns the heater on/off and enables/disables the use of remote and panel push buttons.
  • FLAME BUTTON: Cycles through three flame effects with each press.
  • HEATER BUTTON: Press once for 1000W power, press again for 2000W power.
  • THERMOSTAT SETTING: A knob marked with numbers (1-9) controls the temperature. Start at setting 9 and turn left to decrease temperature, or right to increase. The thermostat maintains the room at the selected level.

Operation (Remote Handset):

Ensure the master on switch (manual on/off switch) is in the 'ON' (I) position and batteries are correctly installed in the remote control.

  • POWER BUTTON: Turns the flame effect settings to the last used setting.
  • FLAME BUTTON: Changes the intensity of the flame illumination, cycling between HIGH, MEDIUM, and LOW settings.
  • BACKLIGHT BUTTON: Cycles through the four backlight settings: OFF, YELLOW, BLUE, and MIX.
  • LOW BUTTON: Activates the 1KW heat setting. Pressing it again turns off the heating.
  • HIGH BUTTON: Activates the 2KW heat setting. Pressing it again turns off the heating.
  • Heat Output Adjustment: Use the LOW and HIGH buttons to select desired heat output.
  • Cold Air Blow: When the heater is turned on, there will be a brief period (approx. 6 seconds) where cold air blows to clear elements of debris. Similarly, after switching off, the fan will blow cold air to re-cool the elements before turning off.

Safety Precautions:

  • Do not locate the heater immediately above a fixed socket outlet.
  • Do not use in the immediate surrounds of a bath, shower, or swimming pool.
  • Do not cover the heater or obstruct air inlet/outlet to prevent overheating.
  • The heater must be cooled down completely before any maintenance.
  • The appliance must be earthed.
  • If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent, or similarly qualified persons.
  • This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless supervised. Children should be supervised not to play with the appliance.
  • To avoid a hazard due to inadvertent resetting of the thermal cut-out, this appliance must not be supplied through an external switching device (e.g., timer) or connected to a circuit that is regularly switched on and off by the utility.
  • Do not operate the unit if it is damaged or has malfunctioned; contact a qualified service technician.

Maintenance Features

General Maintenance:

  • Before any maintenance or cleaning, disconnect the appliance from the main supply.
  • Only competent persons should service/repair appliances.
  • Periodic cleaning/vacuuming of the fan/heater unit is recommended.

Remote Handset Battery Replacement:

  • Replace with two AAA batteries. Ensure correct installation.

Maintenance of Motors:

  • The motors for the fan and flame effect are pre-lubricated for extended bearing life and do not require further lubrication.

Cleaning the Appliance:

  • Exterior: Clean with a soft, damp, lint-free cloth. Do not use cleaning or polishing products.
  • Front Glass Panel: To remove fingerprints or marks, use a soft, damp, lint-free cloth with a good quality household glass cleaner. The panel should be completely dried with a clean, lint-free cloth or paper towel.
  • Caution: Do not use abrasive cleaners on the glass panel. Do not spray liquids directly onto any surface of the unit.

Replacing the LED Flame Effect:

  • The LED lighting is designed to last the lifetime of the unit. If replacement is required, it should only be performed by a qualified electrician.

Safety Thermal Cut-Out (E.S. Control):

  • This device switches off the fire if it overheats.
  • To reset: Switch off the appliance, unplug from the wall socket, and leave for 5-10 minutes to cool down. Plug in and switch on; the E.S. Control will reset.
  • If the E.S. Control switches off again, have the appliance checked by a competent electrician.
  • This fuse link is incorporated into the heating element and breaks the electrical circuit if the heater fan fails. Unlike the E.S. Control, this link cannot be reset. If it breaks, the appliance must be checked by a competent electrician, and the fan/element replaced.

Environmental Information:

  • Do not dispose of electrical appliances as unsorted municipal waste. Use separate collection facilities. Contact your local authority for information on collection systems. When replacing old appliances with new ones, the retailer is legally obligated to take back your old appliance free of charge.
