3.4.1.2 Selecting the Scene mode
1. Set the camera to the REC mode.
2. Press to show the scene mode palette.
3. Use the four-way control to select a desired mode and press to confirm the setting.
Icon Mode Description
Program The camera makes settings suitable for the shooting conditions.
Movie Records movie clips.
Smile Catch Automatically takes a shot while an enough degree of smile is
detected.
Shake-Free Reduces blur caused by camera vibration.
Landscape Used for the wide scenic views.
Backlight Shoots the image of backlight object by changing metering.
Night Scene Shoots the subject while keeping the background night scenery.
Building Enhances the edges of the subject.
Kids Takes a still image to capture moving kids.
High ISO
Portrait
Makes people stand out with the background out-of-focus even
in a dark environment. In this mode, a higher ISO value is used.
Food Higher saturation makes food more appetizing.
Text Enhances the black & white contrast.
Snow Used for the beach or snow scenes.
Fireworks Uses a slow shutter speed to take fireworks exploding.
Sunset Enhances the red hue for recording sunset images.
