Raise the needle (1) by turning the balance wheel on the side
of the machine. Raise the presser foot (2), by lifting the
presser foot lever which is located on the back of the
machine.
Open the hinged front cover on the free arm.
Hold the bobbin case by the latch with the index finger and
thumb of the left hand.
