External Mix Air Nozzle Application
OPERATION:
1. Connect hose as shown in diagram.
2. Fill cup with strained fluid mixed in accordance with
manufacturer’s recommendations on label of container.
3. Fasten cover securely.
4. Close air adjusting valve by turning clockwise.
5. Set air pressure at oil and water extractor (transformer)
to between 35 and 80 PSI, depending upon atomiza-
tion desired.
6. Set regulator on pressure cup to approximately 10 PSI
for enamels; 5 PSI for lacquers. (Turn knob clockwise
to increase pressure; to reduce pressure, turn knob
counter-clockwise. Always release air in cup by
momentarily opening air release valve on cover when
attempting to reduce pressure.)
7. Open air adjusting valve.
8. With trigger fully pulled back, make several fast spray
strokes against a flat surface. After adjustment of pres-
sure, proper atomization will be indicated by an even
distribution of finely divided paint particles.

Summary

External Mix Air Nozzle Application Operation

Connect Hose

Connect the hose as shown in the diagram for operation.

Fill Cup

Fill the cup with strained fluid according to manufacturer's recommendations.

Fasten Cover

Ensure the container cover is fastened securely before use.

Close Air Adjusting Valve

Close the air adjusting valve by turning it clockwise.

Set Air Pressure (Extractor)

Set air pressure at the oil/water extractor to 35-80 PSI for desired atomization.

Set Regulator Pressure

Set regulator on pressure cup to 10 PSI for enamels or 5 PSI for lacquers.

Open Air Adjusting Valve

Open the air adjusting valve to allow air to enter the system.

Test Spray Strokes

Perform test spray strokes to check for proper atomization and even particle distribution.

Important Operational Principles

Atomization Pressure Efficiency

Use the lowest air pressure that properly atomizes paint to minimize overspray and waste.

Coverage Adjustment Strategy

Adjust fluid pressure first, then atomization air pressure for desired coverage speed.

Cup and Cover Maintenance

Grease cup threads for easier removal and to prevent leakage.

Cleaning Procedure

Initial Steps

Open air release valve, reduce cup pressure to zero, loosen cover, and set fluid tube.

Forcing Solvent Through Nozzle

Loosen air nozzle, cover with cloth, and pull trigger to force solvent into cup.

Cup and Cover Cleaning

Remove and thoroughly clean the cup and cover.

Solvent Flushing

Attach cover, set fluid pressure with solvent, and flush until clear.

Final Nozzle and Assembly

Clean air nozzle, blow dry, and reassemble cover loosely.

Internal Mix Air Nozzle Application

Atomization Method

Achieves atomization by mixing air and fluid directly within the air nozzle.

Pressure Settings

Set extractor air pressure to 45 PSI, and fluid pressure to 20 PSI, adjusting as needed.
