The BIOSTAR Z490A-SILVER is an ATX form factor motherboard designed to support 10th Gen Intel® Core™, Pentium, and Celeron processors with a Socket 1200 interface. The motherboard facilitates the installation of essential computer components such as the Central Processing Unit (CPU), CPU heatsink, DDR4 system memory, and expansion cards (PCI-Express Gen3 x16 and x1 slots, M.2 SSD modules). It also provides numerous headers and connectors for internal and external peripherals, including SATA III drives, USB ports (USB 3.2 Gen1 and USB 2.0), audio jacks, LAN, and display outputs (HDMI, DP, VGA).

The motherboard integrates several BIOSTAR utilities through its RACING GT EVO software, allowing users to configure system settings, monitor hardware, and personalize the user experience. These utilities include SmartEAR for audio optimization, GT Touch for performance mode adjustments (Normal, ECO, Sport), Vivid LED DJ for RGB lighting control, and A.I Fan for intelligent fan speed management. The UEFI BIOS provides a graphical interface for system configuration and offers tools for BIOS updates (BIO-Flasher and BIOS Update Utility).
