Setup Guide For
Brainlab Kick/Curve/Buzz IGS interface
on
bk5000/Flex Focus 800
General description
This document describes how to configure the bk5000 or the Flex Focus 800 for communication with
the Brainlab systems Kick, Curve or Buzz IGS. The BK Medical Ultrasound device can be connected to
the Brainlab system via the Intraoperative Data port using an Ethernet network cable. The
communication is performed via the OEM protocol of the BK Medical Ultrasound device.
IMPORTANT:
The setup procedure must be carried out by B-K service personnel / Brainlab service personnel or their
authorised representatives.
Necessary equipment / tools for the installation:
 Network cable
 Flex Focus 800: Short standard screwdriver (roughly 8 cm long) for opening back of device to
connect network cable
