About switching devices
If you are switching from a BlackBerry® device that is associated with one or more existing
email addresses (for example, a Google Mail™ or Windows Live™ Hotmail® email account),
to start receiving email messages to your new BlackBerry device, you must complete the
process for switching devices using the BlackBerry® Internet Service email setup
application. To complete the process for switching devices automatically, follow the prompts
that appear when you access the email setup application on your new BlackBerry device.
If you do not receive the prompts or if you decline any of the prompts, email messages will
continue to be sent to your previous device until you complete the process for switching
devices manually.
You can also import data from your previous BlackBerry device, Palm® device, or Windows
Mobile® powered device to your new BlackBerry device using the switch device wizard tool
of the BlackBerry® Desktop Manager. For more information about switching devices, see
the online help that is available in the BlackBerry Desktop Manager.
