Overview

The Blaupunkt Ice Cube Air Cooler, model number 368417, is a personal air cooling device designed for domestic use. It operates using a USB power source and can be used with or without water, though optimal cooling is achieved by filling its water tanks.

Function Description:

The Ice Cube Air Cooler provides a localized cool breeze for small spaces. It features adjustable cooling speeds, with three settings available, indicated by lights. The device also includes mood lights with seven selectable colors. Airflow direction can be manually adjusted via horizontal grills on the front. The core cooling mechanism involves a wet filter block and water tanks. For enhanced cooling, the water tanks and filter block can be frozen prior to use. The device is not designed to significantly reduce room temperature but rather to offer personal cooling.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Product Code: EH3139V2
  • Input: DC 5 V
  • Output: 7 W
  • Water Tank Capacity: 600 ml
  • Power Source: USB (can be used with a mains to USB adaptor)

Usage Features:

  • Getting Started: Remove the air cooler from its packaging. The box includes the Ice Cube Air Cooler main unit, a USB cable, a mains to USB adaptor, and an instruction manual.
  • Power On/Off: Press the power button to turn the air cooler on or off.
  • Cooling Speed Adjustment: Press the 'COOL' button to cycle through three cooling speeds. Indicator lights will show the selected speed.
  • Mood Light Activation: Press the 'LIGHT' button to turn on the mood light. Repeatedly pressing 'LIGHT' cycles through seven colors.
  • Airflow Direction: Manually adjust the horizontal grills on the front of the air cooler to regulate airflow.
  • Water Tank Filling (for optimum cooling):
    1. Ensure the air cooler is switched off and unplugged.
    2. Open water tank access doors and pull tanks up and away.
    3. Remove the filter block by lifting and sliding it sideways. Run it under cool, clean water until fully wet, then shake off excess and replace.
    4. Remove water tanks, unscrew caps, and fill to the brim with cool, clean water. Replace caps and slide tanks back into position. Valves in the caps will release water into the reservoir.
    5. Close water tank access doors.
  • Enhanced Cooling (Freezing Water Tanks/Filter Block):
    • Fill water tanks to the indicated line and place upright in the freezer for 8 hours until fully frozen. Top up with cool, clean water before inserting into the air cooler.
    • The wet filter block can also be placed in the freezer with the water tanks for 8 hours until frozen.
    • Caution: Do not freeze water tanks with caps on, as this could damage valves and tanks. Do not fill the air cooler with any liquid other than cool, clean water or use additives.
  • Important Notes during Use:
    • Always remove excess water and allow the air cooler to dry after each use to prevent limescale and bacteria buildup.
    • Do not lift the air cooler by the front panel when positioning.
    • Keep the air cooler level when filled with water to avoid spills, as the water reservoir is in the base.
    • Water droplets on or around the tanks are normal; wipe away with an absorbent cloth.
  • Storage: Drain water tanks and allow the air cooler to cool and dry before storing in a cool, dry place. Coil the power cable carefully to prevent damage.

Maintenance Features:

  • General Cleaning:
    • Always unplug the air cooler and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
    • Wipe the exterior with a soft, damp, lint-free cloth and dry thoroughly.
    • Do not immerse the air cooler in water or any other liquid.
    • Do not use flammable liquid, abrasive cleaning solvents, polishes, or scouring pads.
  • Water Tank Draining: After each use, open access doors, pull out water tanks, unscrew caps, and tip away any excess water. Shake to remove excess and leave to dry with caps off.
  • Filter Block Cleaning:
    • Lift the filter block up and slide it out from one side of the main unit.
    • Remove loose fibers by hand and rinse with cool, clean water.
    • Allow the filter block to air dry if not using immediately.
    • Alternatively, place the filter in a dishwasher at 35 °C for approximately 35 minutes, then air-dry.
  • Internal Cleaning: Before replacing water tanks and filter block, wipe the inside of the air cooler with an absorbent cloth to remove any excess water from the water reservoir. Limescale deposits can be removed with a soft, damp cloth and mild detergent.
  • Mould/Musty Smell Treatment: If mould or a musty smell occurs, remove the filter block and fully immerse it in a solution of equal parts water and white vinegar. Soak for 45-60 minutes, then rinse thoroughly in warm water and air-dry.
  • Filter Replacement: It is advised to replace the filter every 6–12 months. Contact customer service for ordering a new filter.
