Pull out on the bottom of the latches, one side at a time. Release one latch and pull up,
then release the second latch.
NOTE: DO NOT LIFT THE MILL FROM THE PAN BY PULLING ON THE GRAIN
SHIELD. It was not designed to be a handle and could break.
