Overview

The Bonaire Optima L Series is a range of split-type room air conditioners designed for residential use, offering both heating and cooling functionalities. The series includes models with varying capacities: OHL 25OD/ID (2.5kW), OHL 35OD/ID (3.5kW), OHL 50OD/ID (5.0kW), and OHL 70OD/ID (7.0kW), each identified by specific CRC numbers.

Function Description:

The air conditioner operates through an indoor unit and an outdoor unit, controlled by a wireless remote. Key functions include:

  • Cooling Mode: Provides cooling to the room.
  • Heating Mode: Provides heating to the room.
  • Dry Mode (Dehumidify): Reduces humidity in the room.
  • Fan Mode: Circulates air without cooling or heating.
  • Auto Mode: Automatically selects cooling or heating based on room temperature and adjusts fan speed.
  • Sleep Operation: Adjusts temperature settings over time to optimize comfort during sleep and then switches off after a set period (typically 6 hours). In COOL/DRY mode, the set temperature rises by 1°C per hour for the first two hours. In HEAT mode, the set temperature drops by 2°C per hour for the first two hours, then rises by 1°C in the third hour.
  • Power/Quiet Operation:
    • POWER Mode: Runs the unit at its highest power for rapid cooling or heating.
    • QUIET Mode: Operates the unit at its lowest power to minimize noise.
  • Timer On/Off: Allows users to program the unit to turn on or off at specific times, with adjustments in 0.5-hour increments up to 12 hours, and 1-hour increments beyond 12 hours, up to 24 hours.
  • Health Airflow Function: Adjusts the louver position for specific airflow patterns (upward or downward) to promote healthier air circulation.
  • Air Flow Direction Adjustment: Allows manual or automatic adjustment of the horizontal flap (up and down) and vertical blade (left and right) for optimal air distribution. The remote control offers five vertical flap positions and an autoswing function.
  • Emergency Operation: In case of remote controller malfunction or loss, the unit can be operated via an emergency switch for a 1-hour period, running automatically in preset modes (e.g., COOL at 26°C or HEAT at 23°C with AUTO fan speed).
  • Test Operation: Similar to emergency operation, used when room temperature is below 16°C, initiating cooling at high fan speed.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Refrigerant Type: R32, a fluorinated greenhouse gas covered by the Kyoto Protocol.
  • GWP Value: 675 (Global Warming Potential).
  • Capacities:
    • OHL 25OD/ID: 2.5kW
    • OHL 35OD/ID: 3.5kW
    • OHL 50OD/ID: 5.0kW
    • OHL 70OD/ID: 7.0kW
  • Remote Control Range: Effective within 7 meters without obstructions.
  • Power Supply: Requires an exclusive power source with a circuit breaker.

Usage Features:

  • Remote Controller: Features buttons for Power On/Off, Mode selection (COOL, HEAT, DRY, AUTO, FAN), Temperature adjustment (TEMP+ / TEMP-), Fan Speed (LOW, MED, HI, AUTO), Timer, Swing, Hour, Extra Function (SLEEP, POWER, HEALTH), Lock, Light, Cancel/Confirm, and Reset.
  • Display Boards (Indoor Unit):
    • Display Board A: Shows signal receiver, setting temperature, and operation mode indicator (white for COOL/DRY/HEAT, green for health function).
    • Display Board B: Shows signal receiver hole, ambient temperature, operation mode indicator (compressor on), and TIMER ON/OFF/SLEEP display.
    • Display Board C: Shows remote signal receiver, power indicator, timer mode indicator, operation mode indicator, and ambient temperature.
    • Display Board D: Shows signal receiver hole, ambient temperature, COOL, HEAT, HEALTH, and DRY displays.
  • Battery Installation: The remote control uses batteries; ensure correct polarity (+/-) during installation. Remove batteries if the unit will not be used for a long period.
  • Temperature Setting: Adjustable in 1°C increments.
  • Airflow Control: Horizontal flap adjusts up/down, vertical blade adjusts left/right. Manual adjustment of the flap is not recommended.
  • Condensate Prevention: In COOL/DRY mode, avoid keeping the horizontal flap in the downward position for extended periods to prevent condensate buildup on louvers, especially in high humidity.
  • Memory Function: The remote controller memorizes the previous set swing position when restarting the unit.

Maintenance Features:

  • Air Filter Cleaning:
    1. Open the inlet grille by pulling it upward.
    2. Remove the filter by pushing up its center tab and pulling it downward.
    3. Clean the filter using a vacuum cleaner or by washing with water, then dry completely in the shade.
    4. Attach the filter correctly, ensuring the "FRONT" indication faces forward.
    5. Close the inlet grille.
    • Recommended cleaning frequency: Every two weeks during high use.
  • Air Purifying Filter Replacement:
    1. Open the inlet grille using the grille-support device.
    2. Detach the standard air filter by sliding the knob upward.
    3. Attach air purifying filter appliances into the right and left filter frames.
    4. Attach the standard air filter.
    5. Close the inlet grille firmly.
    • Photocatalyst Air Purifying Filter: Requires recharging by exposure to direct sunlight every 6 months. The white side faces outside, the black side faces the unit.
    • Bacteria-Killing Medium Air Purifying Filter: Does not require replacement but should be dusted regularly to maintain performance. The green sides face outside, the white sides face the unit. Store in cool, dry conditions away from long-term sun exposure when not in use.
  • General Cleaning:
    • Indoor Body: Wipe with a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn stains, use a neutral detergent diluted with water, wring out the cloth, and wipe off the detergent completely. Avoid hot water over 40°C (104°F) to prevent discoloration or deformation.
    • Remote Controller: Wipe with a dry cloth. Do not use water, glass cleaner, or chemical cloths.
    • Avoid: Gasoline, benzine, thinner, or cleanser, as they may damage the unit's coating.
  • Long-Term Storage: If the unit will not be used for a long period, turn off the main power supply switch.
  • Professional Servicing: The appliance must be serviced and maintained regularly by a qualified refrigeration mechanic. Failure to do so may invalidate the warranty. Refer to the Warranty and Service booklet for details.
  • Safety Precautions: Do not block air inlets/outlets, do not insert objects into the unit, do not operate with wet hands, and ensure proper drainage installation. Ventilate the property when gas appliances are running.
