Explanaon of the symbols (Fig. B) for BBC2500:
1. Baery charging status: 25%
2. Baery charging status: 50%
3. Baery charging status: 75%
4. Baery charging status: 100%
5. Charging of a 12V baery (lead acid baery, AGM baery and GEL baery) with 2A charging current.
6. Charging of a 12V baery (lead acid baery, AGM baery and GEL baery) in winter mode with 2A charging current and an ambient temperature of – 20°C
to +5°C. Danger! Do not charge any frozen baeries.
7. Charging of a 6V baery (lead acid baery, AGM baery and GEL baery) with 2A charging current.
8. Clamps are wrongly connected (reverse polarity)or there is a short-circuit
Explanaon of the symbols in the LCD display (Fig. B) for BBC4000:
1 Charging of a 12 V baery (lead acid baery, AGM baery and GEL baery) with 2A charging current.
2 Charging of a 12 V baery (lead acid baery, AGM baery and GEL baery) with 4A charging current.
3 Charging of a 12 V baery (lead acid baery, AGM baery and GEL baery) in winter mode with 4A charging current and an ambient temperature
of – 20°C to +5°C.
Danger! Do not charge any frozen baeries.
4 Charging of a 6V baery (lead acid baery, AGM baery and GEL baery) with 2A charging current.

7 Baery voltage display in volts
8 Charge status of the baery in percent (1 increment = 25%) and charging procedure (increment in the baery symbol ashes = baery charging in pro-
gress; all increments are lit = baery is fully charged).
Charging sengs for BBC2500
Press the Mode buon (Fig. B/Item 1) to set the charging funcons 12 V/2 A (Fig. B/Item 5) and 12V/2A Winter Mode (Fig. B/Item 6).
Charging sengs for BBC4000
Press the Mode buon (Fig. B/Item 1) to set the charging funcons 12V/2A (Fig. B/Item 1), 12V/4A (Fig. B/Item 2) and 12V/4A Winter Mode (Fig. B/Item 3)
Charging the baery:
• Release or remove the baery stoppers (if ed) from the baery.
• Check the acid level in the baery. If necessary, top up the baery with dislled water (if possible). Important: Baery acid is aggressive. Rinse o any acid
splashes thoroughly with lots of water and seek medical advice if necessary.
• First connect the red charging cable to the posive pole of the baery.
• Then connect the black charging cable to the bodywork of the vehicle away from the baery and the petrol pipe.
• Warning! Under normal circumstances the negave baery pole is connected to the bodywork and you proceed. In exceponal cases it is possible that the
posive baery pole is connected to the bodywork (posive earthing). In this case connect the black charging cable to the negave pole on the baery. Then
connect the red charging cable at a point away from the baery and the petrol pipe.
• Aer the baery has been connected to the charger, you can connect the charger to a socket supplying 240 V ~ 50 Hz (for BBC2500) and 230 V ~ 50 Hz (for
BBC4000). The equipment automacally recognizes the rated voltage (6V or 12V) of the connected baery. Do not connect it to a socket that supplies any other
mains voltage. Depending on the rated voltage: LED Fig. B/Item 5 will light up for 12V or LED Fig. B/Item 7 will light up for 6V. LEDs Fig. B/Item 1-4 will blink in
succession unl the baery is fully charged (provided it is not defecve). When the baery is fully charged, the LEDs A-D will be lit connuously.
Important! Charging may create dangerous explosive gas and therefore you should avoid spark formaon and naked ames whilst the baery is charging. There
is a risk of explosion!
• If the baery terminals are connected in reverse, the protecon against swapped poles ensures that the baery and the charger do not get damaged. If this
is the case, remove the charger from the baery and from the socket outlet. Start charging again aer waing for approx. 3 minutes. Calculang the charging
me (Fig. C) The charging me depends on the charge status of the baery. If the baery is fully discharged, the approximate charging me up to approx. 80%
charged can be calculated using the following formula:
Baery capacity in Ah
Charging me/h =
Amp. (charging current)
