Explanaon of the symbols (Fig. B) for BBC2500:
1. Baery charging status: 25%
2. Baery charging status: 50%
3. Baery charging status: 75%
4. Baery charging status: 100%
5. Charging of a 12V baery (lead acid baery, AGM baery and GEL baery) with 2A charging current.
6. Charging of a 12V baery (lead acid baery, AGM baery and GEL baery) in winter mode with 2A charging current and an ambient temperature of – 20°C
to +5°C. Danger! Do not charge any frozen baeries.
7. Charging of a 6V baery (lead acid baery, AGM baery and GEL baery) with 2A charging current.
8. Clamps are wrongly connected (reverse polarity)or there is a short-circuit
Explanaon of the symbols in the LCD display (Fig. B) for BBC4000:
1 Charging of a 12 V baery (lead acid baery, AGM baery and GEL baery) with 2A charging current.
2 Charging of a 12 V baery (lead acid baery, AGM baery and GEL baery) with 4A charging current.
3 Charging of a 12 V baery (lead acid baery, AGM baery and GEL baery) in winter mode with 4A charging current and an ambient temperature
of – 20°C to +5°C.
Danger! Do not charge any frozen baeries.

8 Charge status of the baery in percent (1 increment = 25%) and charging procedure (increment in the baery symbol  ashes = baery charging in pro-
gress; all increments are lit = baery is fully charged).
Charging sengs for BBC2500
Press the Mode buon (Fig. B/Item 1) to set the charging funcons 12 V/2 A (Fig. B/Item 5) and 12V/2A Winter Mode (Fig. B/Item 6).
Charging sengs for BBC4000
Press the Mode buon (Fig. B/Item 1) to set the charging funcons 12V/2A (Fig. B/Item 1), 12V/4A (Fig. B/Item 2) and 12V/4A Winter Mode (Fig. B/Item 3)
Charging the baery:
• Release or remove the baery stoppers (if ed) from the baery.
• Check the acid level in the baery. If necessary, top up the baery with dislled water (if possible). Important: Baery acid is aggressive. Rinse o any acid
splashes thoroughly with lots of water and seek medical advice if necessary.
• First connect the red charging cable to the posive pole of the baery.
• Then connect the black charging cable to the bodywork of the vehicle away from the baery and the petrol pipe.
Warning! Under normal circumstances the negave baery pole is connected to the bodywork and you proceed. In exceponal cases it is possible that the
posive baery pole is connected to the bodywork (posive earthing). In this case connect the black charging cable to the negave pole on the baery. Then
connect the red charging cable at a point away from the baery and the petrol pipe.
• Aer the baery has been connected to the charger, you can connect the charger to a socket supplying 240 V ~ 50 Hz (for BBC2500) and 230 V ~ 50 Hz (for
BBC4000). The equipment automacally recognizes the rated voltage (6V or 12V) of the connected baery. Do not connect it to a socket that supplies any other
mains voltage. Depending on the rated voltage: LED Fig. B/Item 5 will light up for 12V or LED Fig. B/Item 7 will light up for 6V. LEDs Fig. B/Item 1-4 will blink in
succession unl the baery is fully charged (provided it is not defecve). When the baery is fully charged, the LEDs A-D will be lit connuously.
Important! Charging may create dangerous explosive gas and therefore you should avoid spark formaon and naked ames whilst the baery is charging. There
is a risk of explosion!
• If the baery terminals are connected in reverse, the protecon against swapped poles ensures that the baery and the charger do not get damaged. If this
is the case, remove the charger from the baery and from the socket outlet. Start charging again aer waing for approx. 3 minutes. Calculang the charging
me (Fig. C) The charging me depends on the charge status of the baery. If the baery is fully discharged, the approximate charging me up to approx. 80%
charged can be calculated using the following formula:
Baery capacity in Ah
Charging me/h =
Amp. (charging current)
