general instructions. Fail-
ure to observe the safety
and general instructions
may result in electric shock,
fire and/or serious injury.

erence.
The term battery is used in these instructions to mean all
original Bosch eBike rechargeable battery packs.
Safety warnings for the capacity tester
Do not expose the capacity tester and power
adaptor to rain or wet conditions. Water en-
tering the capacity tester or power adaptor will
increase the risk of electric shock.
u Keep the capacity tester and power adaptor clean. Dirt
poses a risk of electric shock.
u Always check the capacity tester, power adaptor,
cable and plug before use. Do not use the capacity
tester if you discover any damage. Do not open the ca-
pacity tester and power adaptor. Damaged capacity
testers, power adaptors, cables and plugs increase the
risk of electric shock.
u Do not cover the capacity tester or its ventilation
slots.
u Do not feed any mechanical parts, especially those
made of metal, into the device through the ventilation
slots.
u Only use the capacity tester in enclosed spaces. The
capacity tester must only be used in clean, dry condi-
tions.
u Do not place the capacity tester directly against the
wall. Maintain a clearance of at least 30cm.
u Do not open the capacity tester or the power adaptor.
There is a risk of short circuiting and electric shock.
Opening the capacity tester voids any and all warranty
claims.
u Avoid using liquids of any kind near the tool. Liquids
could get inside the device and cause an electric shock.
u Do not use the capacity tester's connection cable for
any other purpose than connecting a Bosch eBike bat-
tery to the capacity tester. Do not use the capacity
tester if the cable is damaged. Replace the cable immedi-
ately.
u Position the capacity tester such that you can always
quickly and easily disconnect it from the mains.
u The capacity tester can only be used to test original
Bosch eBike batteries. Do not use it to test other bat-
teries.
u Protect the capacity tester from direct sunlight.
Safety warnings for Bosch eBike batteries
u Do not open the battery. There is a risk of short-circuit-
ing. Opening the battery voids any and all warranty
claims.
u Protect the battery against heat (e.g. prolonged sun
exposure), fire and from being submerged in water.
Do not store or operate the battery near hot or flam-
mable objects. There is a risk of explosion.
u When the battery is not in use, keep it away from pa-
per clips, coins, keys, nails, screws or other small
metal objects that could make a connection from one
terminal to another. A short circuit between the battery
terminals may cause burns or a fire. Short circuit damage
which occurs in this instance voids any and all warranty
claims against Bosch.
u If used incorrectly, liquid may leak from the battery.
Contact with this liquid should be avoided. If contact
occurs, rinse off with water. If the liquid comes into
contact with your eyes, seek additional medical atten-
tion. Liquid leaking from the battery may cause irritation
or scalding.
u Batteries must not be subjected to mechanical shock.
There is a risk of the battery being damaged.
u The battery may give off fumes if it becomes damaged
or is used incorrectly. Ensure the area is well ventil-
ated and seek medical attention should you experi-
ence any adverse effects. The fumes may irritate the
respiratory system.
u Only charge the battery using original Bosch chargers.
When using chargers that are not made by Bosch, the risk
of fire cannot be excluded.
u Read and observe the safety warnings and directions
contained in all the eBike system operating instruc-
tions and in the operating instructions of your eBike.
u Keep the battery and the capacity tester away from
children.
