Why won't the displays light up on my Bosch DWB67JP50I Hob?
    • J
      Johnny VargasAug 23, 2025
If no displays light up on your Bosch Hob, it could be due to a disconnected power supply. Check other electrical appliances to see if there's a power failure. Also, ensure the appliance is connected according to the circuit diagram. If these steps don't resolve the issue, it may be an electronics fault, and you should contact technical after-sales service.

Overview

This document describes the Bosch Extractor Hood, an appliance designed for domestic use to remove cooking fumes and odors from the kitchen environment. It can operate in either exhaust air mode or circulating-air mode, offering flexibility based on installation requirements.

Function Description:

The extractor hood functions by drawing in air, cleaning it through grease filters, and then either expelling it to the exterior (exhaust air mode) or recirculating it back into the kitchen after passing through an activated carbon filter (circulating-air mode). This process helps maintain air quality and reduce condensation during cooking. The appliance features various fan settings, including intensive modes for heavy fumes, and a fan run-on time to continue clearing the air after cooking. Lighting can be controlled independently of the fan, with adjustable brightness. Some models include a PerfectAir sensor for automatic fan speed adjustment based on detected cooking odors.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Operating Modes: Exhaust air mode, Circulating-air mode.
  • Maximum Operating Height: 2000 meters above sea level.
  • Exhaust Air Duct Diameter (Recommended): Ø 150 mm (inner diameter), with a minimum of 120 mm.
  • Flat Duct Cross-Section: Must correspond to round pipe diameters (e.g., 177 cm² for Ø 150 mm, 113 cm² for Ø 120 mm).
  • Power Cable Length: Approximately 1.30 m.
  • Max. Weight of Extractor Hood: 40 kg.
  • Electrical Connection: Requires connection to a protective contact socket. An all-pole isolating switch or residual-current circuit breaker (RCCB) is recommended for permanent electrical installations.
  • LED Lights: Risk group 1, should not be stared at directly for more than 100 seconds.

Usage Features:

  • Control Panel (Model 1 & 2): Features touch controls for fan on/off, fan settings (1-3), intensive modes (boost ^, power boost), fan run-on, metal grease filter/activated charcoal filter saturation indicator, and light on/off/dimming.
  • Fan Settings: Users can select from three standard fan settings or two intensive modes. Intensive modes automatically revert to setting 3 after approximately 6 minutes.
  • Fan Run-on Time: A 10-minute run-on feature at setting 1 can be activated to clear residual fumes, after which the fan switches off automatically.
  • Lighting: Independent control for switching on/off and dimming the lights by pressing and holding the light symbol.
  • Saturation Display: Symbols for metal grease filters and activated charcoal filters flash when saturated, indicating the need for cleaning or replacement. These indicators can be reset.
  • Air Recirculation Mode Switching: The electronic controller can be switched between air recirculation and air extraction modes by specific touch sequences on the control panel, depending on whether the filters are regenerable.
  • Audible Signal: An audible signal can be switched on/off to provide acknowledgement for certain operations.
  • Automatic Mode (Model 2 only): Utilizes a PerfectAir sensor to automatically adjust fan speed based on cooking and roasting odors. The sensitivity of the sensor can be adjusted (settings 1-5). Automatic mode can run for a maximum of 4 hours.
  • Energy Saving Tips: Includes advice such as ensuring sufficient air supply, adjusting fan speed to steam amount, using intensive mode only when needed, switching off the hood and lighting when not required, and regular filter cleaning/replacement.

Maintenance Features:

  • Cleaning Agents: Specific recommendations for cleaning different surfaces (stainless steel, painted surfaces, aluminum and plastic, glass, controls) using hot soapy water or glass cleaner. Strict warnings against using harsh, abrasive, or high-alcohol content cleaning agents, scouring pads, pressure washers, steam cleaners, limescale dissolvers, aggressive all-purpose cleaners, or oven spray.
  • Metal Mesh Grease Filters:
    • Cleaning Frequency: Recommended every 2 months.
    • Cleaning Method: Can be cleaned in a dishwasher (using normal domestic detergents, at max 70 °C, ensuring space around filters) or by hand (soaking in hot soapy water, brushing, rinsing, and draining). Special degreaser can be ordered for stubborn dirt.
    • Installation/Removal: Instructions provided for safe removal and reinsertion of the filters, emphasizing holding them level to prevent fat from dripping.
  • Activated Charcoal Filter: Requires replacement, with non-renewable types needing replacement twice a year.
  • Safety Precautions for Cleaning: Always disconnect the appliance from the electricity supply (unplug or switch off circuit breaker) before cleaning. Allow the appliance to cool down. Wear protective gloves due to sharp edges inside.
  • Protective Film: Advised to remove the protective film from all parts of the appliance before first use to prevent surface damage.
