The detector head will only latch into the base when the batter-
ies are inserted.

Insert three new LR6 batteries (mignon/AA) in the battery
compartments, observing the polarity shown.
Once the batteries have been inserted, the red LED flashes
every 48 seconds, which signals that the device is ready for
operation.
Mounting the detector head
1. Align the red triangle on the detector head with the one on
the base.
2. Screw the detector head clockwise to the base until it
latches.
