Dust Cover
Mount the dust cover 15 before connecting the
machine to the dust extraction.
Place the dust cover from the front into the guide so
that it latches.
For work without dust extraction, the dust cover 15 can
be removed. To remove the dust cover 15, grasp it by
the side and pull it off toward the front.
Connecting the Dust Extraction
Place a vacuum hose 3 (accessory) onto the vacuum
connection 4. Connect the vacuum hose 3 with a vac-
uum cleaner (accessory). An overview for the connec-
tion of various vacuum cleaners can be found at the end
of these instructions.
The vacuum cleaner must be suitable for the material
being worked.
When vacuuming dry dust that is especially detrimental
to health or carcinogenic, use a special vacuum
cleaner.
Replacing/Inserting the Saw Blade
Before any work on the machine itself, pull the
mains plug.
When mounting the saw blade, wear protective
gloves. Danger of injury when touching the saw blade.
Selecting a Saw Blade
An overview of recommended saw blades can be found
at the end of these instructions. Use only T-shank saw
blades. The saw blade should not be longer than
required for the intended cut.
Use a thin saw blade for narrow curve cuts.
Inserting the Saw Blade (see figure A1)
If required, remove the dust cover 15 (see Dust Cover).
Insert the saw blade 11 (teeth in cutting direction) into
the stroke rod 14 until it latches. The SDS lever 10
automatically snaps to the rear and the saw blade is
locked. Do not manually press the lever 10 toward the
rear, otherwise you could damage the machine.
While inserting the saw blade, pay attention that the
back of the saw blade is positioned in the groove of the
guide roller 9.
Check the tight seating of the saw blade. A loose
saw blade can fall out and lead to injuries.
Ejecting the Saw Blade (see figure A2)
When ejecting the saw blade, hold the machine
in such a manner that no persons or animals can
be injured by the ejected saw blade.
Turn the SDS lever 10 toward the front in the direction
of the arrow. The saw blade is released and ejected.
Splinter Guard (see figure B)
The splinter guard 16 (accessory) can prevent fraying
of the surface while sawing wood. The splinter guard
can only be used for certain saw blade types and only
for cutting angles of 0°. When sawing with the splinter
guard, the base plate 6 must not be moved back for
cuts that are close to the edge.
Press the splinter guard 16 from the bottom into the
base plate 6.
Operation
Operating Modes
Adjusting the Cutting Angle (see figure C)
The base plate 6 can be swivelled by 45° to the left or
right for mitre cuts.
If required, remove the dust cover 15 (see Dust Cover)
and pull the saw blade storage 5 out of the base plate
6. Insert a saw blade 11 (see Inserting the Saw Blade).
Loosen the screw 17 and lightly slide the base plate 6
toward the vacuum connection 4.
For adjustment of precise mitre angles, the base plate
is fitted with latching points on the right and left at 0°,
22.5° and 45°. Swivel the base plate 6 according to
the scale 8 to the desired position. Other mitre angles
can be adjusted with the use of a protractor (see
figure D).
Afterwards, push the base plate 6 to the stop in the
direction of the saw blade 11.
Position the holder for the guide roller 18 in such a
manner that the guide roller 9 faces against the back of
the saw blade. Precise cuts are possible only when the
guide roller faces tightly against the back of the saw
blade.
Tighten the screw 17 again.
The dust cover 15 and the splinter guard 16 can not be
used for mitre cuts.
Offsetting the Base Plate (see figure C)
For sawing close to edges, the base plate 6 can be off-
set to the rear.
If required, pull the saw blade storage 5 out of the base
plate 6. Insert a saw blade 11 (see Inserting the Saw
Blade).
Loosen the screw 17 and slide the base plate 6 toward
the vacuum connection 4 to the stop.
