Assembly and Connection
L When using the hand−held terminal, also heed the information relevant
to operation in the ”Notes Regarding Safety” section.
L Ensure that the operator has an unobstructed view of moving machine
parts within the operational range of the hand−held terminal at all times
and that it is possible for him to immediately activate the EMERGENCY
STOP device of the system in the case of danger!
DANGER
Danger to life and limb caused by EMERGENCY STOP devices that
are not located within reach of the operator!
The BT 6.190 HPG hand−held terminal may be operated only on
machines with a permanently installed operating station and an
EMERGENCY STOP device! The EMERGENCY STOP device of the
operating station must be in reach at all times so that it can be acti-
vated immediately in case of a malfunction.
Therefore, cable extensions between the operating station and the
BT 6.190 HPG are not permitted!
L Avoid direct sunlight exposure (this causes a reduction in the display re-
adability and causes additional heating of the display).
L Keep the device as far as possible from sources of interference (no less
than 25 cm).
L Do not bring the hand−held terminal near objects that are affected by or
can be destroyed by magnetism.
The rear side of the hand−held terminal housing is magnetic!
3.2.1 Connection
Connection and disconnection may occur when the timer is switched on.
Communication with the timer is usually established automatically upon
connection.
. The BT 6.190 HPG may report that the connection to the weld timer
cannot be established.
In this case, simply press key
on the BT 6.190 to establish com-
munication.
. The BT 6.190 has been designed, and is therefore especially suita-
ble, for spot seam timers.
If an unsuitable timer is connected, the device reports ”Incorrect
SST type!”, including the connected timer type, when the connec-
tion is established.
