Why won't the adjustment knob turn on my Bowflex DUMBBELLS Fitness Equipment?
    • E
      Elizabeth HowardJul 26, 2025
If the adjustment knob on your Bowflex Fitness Equipment won't turn while the handle is in the base, first, ensure the dumbbell handle is fully depressed into the base. If it's not, the locking mechanism might be engaged, preventing rotation. Second, check that no weight plates have been placed backward in the base, with the support tongue facing the dumbbell grip. All plates should have the selection tongue facing away from the grip. Finally, inspect the dumbbell base for any dirt, debris, or obstructions, removing the weight plates if necessary.

What to do if Bowflex Fitness Equipment dumbbell handle doesn't fully insert with plates?
    • G
      gcoxAug 5, 2025
If the dumbbell handle of your Bowflex Fitness Equipment doesn't fully insert into the base when plates are selected, first, check if you've selected different weights on each side of the dumbbell. If so, replace the dumbbell in the base with the same orientation in which it was withdrawn. Second, ensure the unselected plates (those remaining in the base) are in their correct slots. If they've been moved, it may block the dumbbell from fitting. Finally, make certain that all of the weight plates have the “selection tongue” facing away from the dumbbell grip. If one or more of these are backwards (selection tongue facing inward toward grip), the handle can get blocked, and the plates may wedge into the handle.

How to fix Bowflex DUMBBELLS dumbbell handle when it doesn't insert fully without plates?
    • O

If the dumbbell handle of your Bowflex Fitness Equipment doesn't fully insert into the base when no plates are selected, ensure both adjustment knobs are set directly to the number 5. Also, make certain that all of the weight plates have the “selection tongue” facing away from the dumbbell grip. If one or more of these are backwards (selection tongue facing inward toward grip), the handle can get blocked, and the plates may wedge into the handle.
